Purge Valve

2017 GLS 450 (M276 ~115k miles)
Two quick questions:

First: when I look for the correct Purge Valve I get a couple options:
  1. PN 001-470-09-93-64 - described as "Right. With bracket. With holder."
  2. PN 001-476-44-32 - described as "Less bracket. Without holder. Left."
At first I was thinking that there was literally a left and right purge valve, but I think they are saying "left picture" and "right picture" referring to the diagram art? so the first PN comes with the bracket and the second is the same part just sans-bracket?

Second: the car is also experiencing a "clunk" from up front, I believe it is related to the sway-bar. I've read on this forum some people solve it by replacing the sway-bar links and others by replacing the sway-bar bushings. When I look for parts on this model (and looking at parts diagrams) I cannot find the bushings anywhere, only the links. On the X166 are the bushings integral to the sway-bar or do I just suck at finding parts online?

Thanks for the help!

Well, I answered my own question about the purge valve: I called the dealer and they confirmed the PN to my VIN and said one comes with the bracket and one without - I bought with the bracket so I wouldn't have to worry about it breaking during uninstall/reinstall. Funny thing, that dealer sells parts on eBay and two other websites and the part was $65 online but $109 at the dealer parts department... So I bought it on eBay but picked it up from the dealer on my way home - strange way of doing business.

I still have the question about the sway-bar bushings if anyone can answer that.

I'd start with replacing the sway bar links. I dont have a GLS though on my W204 I was hearing a metallic clunking going over bumps on the highway, it was like 2-3 clunks in a row. The boots clearly looked worn and torn, grease must have been pushed out by water and the ball joints wore down. With both wheels off the ground i could grab the links and easily rotate them. *I just looked again and see your sway bar links are alot different than for the W204. Not sure how to check if they are worn, though can probably inspect the bushings.

I tried looking up the parts diagram, seems there are 2 part #s for the sway bar but im not seeing part #'s for the bushings themselves. Though I came across an ebay listing for the bushings.

When I look up the replacement brackets i'm not seeing the bushings pop up, usually on sites like FCP when you look up a part they will also recommend the associated parts. Are the bushings stuck to the bar, I think on my W204 its actually melted/stuck on so they arent replaceable, or easily replaceable.

Thank you - very helpful!

Interesting that the PN in the ebay listing doesn't come up on any parts diagrams for the vehicle... I read here that the bushings are not meant to be serviceable and to replace them you have to drill-out some spot-welds. Coming from the world of heavily modified Jeeps for off-roading, that's actually nothing I haven't done before - just not something I was anticipating on a Benz!

Hopefully it ends up being the sway bar links, that's a quick easy fix.

MB sells bars with bushings glued to them. Bushings not separately serviceable with OEM parts. Aftermarket might have a bushings-only solution.
