MB ELW for GLS pricing?
Anyone purchase an MB Extended warranty for their GLS? What price did you pay for the warranty and what was the term/length of it?

As those on the GLE forum have found, Jeff at Tafel Motors in Kentucky has the best pricing around. I got ~30% off list.

I have contacted Jeff. Purchased several from him before. But this time the price he quoted me seems a bit high so I was wondering what others here have paid.

Do you know where I can find the list price?

PM forum member fabbrisd1 (Terry). He's posted GLE pricing on that forum. This was the GLE pricing; GLS is obviously higher. Why (the mechanics are pretty much the same)? Because they can get it.

I don’t get the 40k/4year pre-paid maintenance cost. I called two local Dallas area dealers and both quoted $310 for A service and $690 for B service. So, for 4 years, it comes to about $2k why pre-pay $2,800?

is there something else added in the pre-pay premier plan that I am not aware of?

It's $270 & $585 at my dealer. I believe the basic maintenance plan is called Star. Premier does add some services, but I can't tell you offhand what those are.

Not quit. The "base" GLE is 350, the "base" GLS is 450 with $20K extra standard "staff". So the price difference makes perfect sense. The main question is if all GLE350/450/580 get identical ELW pricing (same question for GLS450/580), or does GLE580 (and maybe 450) get the same tier rating as GLS? If all non AMG GLEs get the same tier pricing, then those with 580s get a hell of a deal (I personally I think at least GLE580 gets bumped to GLS tier level).

As I posted, the $2,950 price is for either the GLE 350 or 450, and it doesn't vary depending on how the car is optioned. So, no, it doesn't make sense to me, other than MB knows if someone is paying more for a GLS they will shell out more for the warranty.

Does the extended warranty have to be purchased within 30 days of the vehicle delivery or can it be purchased at any time?

Canada ELW price for GLS vs GLE is about double - no real reason for that! Canadians cannot use/purchase the MBUSA ELW in Canada it is not honored at MB dealers outside the US, and vice versa the MB Canada ELW is not honored at MBUSA dealers. I travel in the US quite a bit and the ELW would be a waste of money. No Canadian dealers discount the ELW like the US.

Anytime up until the base warranty expires. Dealers' cost, however, goes up 15% 30 days after purchase.
