Wind noise
I have a wind noise at the top of the drivers window which is really noticeable over 50mph. I was wondering whether the window needs adjustment to raise the higher limit. We took into dealer today but they said they couldn’t hear so didn’t do anything. My wife and I must be imagining it!
Any ideas?
Thanks

If that dealer didn't do BOTH - then they shrugged you off

I went in a few days ago (few weeks later now) and they said it was the sunroof that needed to be aligned better over driver side which I don’t think did anything. I never felt it coming from the roof but the door but they felt otherwiseZ
Problem is that once you hear it it’s hard to “unhear it”. It’s soft enough know that for a tech repairing the car (and if they have poor hearing) they may say it’s fine...

- It appears to be a design issue that should have been detected when MB was doing BETA testing the vehicle. I had similar issues years ago with an Acura. They changed mirror housing but never fixed the problem. Good luck with your issue. It’s very frustrating

They said I am not the first to complain about noises in the car. Unless Mercedes releases a recall (which I doubt they every would) I'm not sure what else can be done....
They did throw in a few Mercedes merchandise to make sure I left like I got something out of my trip.

X-Posting my post from there:
"I want to provide an update as I went to the same dealer/advisor after hearing from oakpek of his successful fix. My GLS with the same whistling sound was at the dealer for a week. For oakpek, his changing of the mirror cover + probably adding some felt in the seams worked, but it did not for me. They then proceeded to change a seal in the mirror, which also didn't work. Lastly they swapped out the entire mirror frame (the part where the mirror attaches to the door) and according to the tech it reduced the noise, but not fully gone. They were pretty much out of options at this point and opened a case with corporate MB, when the engineers instructed them where to place additional felt and apparently gave them specific instructions on how to put the whole mirror assembly back together. I'm not really convinced swapping the mirror cover helped in my case and it was more of placing felt and foam insulation at strategic locations and possibly changing out the mirror frame. But anyhow, they told me the noise was gone and after driving it for a day I think its 85-90% gone. I think I sometimes hear it if I try really hard with radio and A/C off, but I cannot be too sure if its really the sound or my brain is playing tricks on me now. Regardless, the sound is definitely much better for now and I will continue to look out for it. So thank you oakpek!!"
So to summarize, my noise is gone (I think, cross fingers) for now. A fellow member over there also came out with a very good fix using an O-ring, so you guys can see if you want to try that too if your service department won't budge. Happy to answer any questions if there are any.
