May 8th - Check w/Dealer If You Have a 2020 GLs On Factory Order
If you have a 2020 GLS Build on orderr with your Dealer - you should check with your Dealer if your GLS is still on order with the factory - or if your order has been canceled by the factory.
The way it looks to me - Vance does want to start producing 2021 GLS's starting end-June/beg-July - of course at the moment there is no official word on that - much less a 2021 Dealer Order Guide (other than 2021 GLS63W4).

SO, it sounds like fate may be giving me a '21. Now the next problem is when will my dealer have an allocation and if they have others ahead of me.
The deadership resubmitted the order with a May build date. Asked for a copy of that PO. Never received it.
Just learned the second order was cancelled given the decision to stop producing 2020 models.

I would assume that material supplies would be a factor. So if a certain trim was ordered (for example) but they could not secure that by end of June, the order was cancelled.
In my case, I was rescheduled for mid-July so even though I haven't heard for sure yet from the dealer, I'm guessing mine will be cancelled.
Is there a reason why dealers aren't getting info from the factory? Are things still not fully up enough for systems to have access to Vance orders?
This doesn't instill confidence, not that I have an alternative I am willing to go to.
Why won't they take my money!!!!!! Even worse, the more I dwell, the more options I want to add to the order. At this point, my 580 is almost the price of a base AMG.

It looks like 2021 won't be on the line until Sep/Oct. I am planning to lease so I am not too upset about getting the older model. If I was buying I would definitely cancel at this point and put in a new order for 2021.

For those of you who have received your vehicles and put on some miles, I have a question. I know many of you have had lots of software and even "hardware" problems with the new model GLE. If and when our GLE450 arrives, my wife and I are thinking about a road trip from Seattle to Palm Springs or Phoenix in coming months. The last thing I want is to breakdown somewhere (especially in a more rural area with no Mercedes dealership and technicians who've never seen a 48 volt electrical system and beltless engine components). Should I be concerned? Please tell me I can rely on this vehicle for a long road trip. Otherwise, maybe I should refuse this car when it comes in and settle for a Subaru. By the way, I'm a life-long Mercedes guy having owned more than a dozen new Mercedes vehicles over the years (mainly E-class and ML with most recent being ab AMG E43). Thanks.

Can someone tell e what the codes and status mean here and any idea on what are the key differences in 2020 and 2021 GLS 450 in Canada? Thanks

B4 Status for the US customers means 2 days to completion and 6.3 means it is scheduled for production 3rd decade of June (June 21-30) but I was told by my dealer here in Canada that is not the case for Canadian orders. He was right as mine was B4 for months. My order took 363 days to completion, but keep in mind my order was placed early in April 2019 before production began. The planned delivery date in my case was actually 2 months later. The differences between 2020 and 2021 will be different for Canada and your dealer can give you that info. The differences between 2020 and 2021 for the US have been published here but that can't be applied to Canada. Each country gets different standard equipment and select options, not all options are available in every country.
I'm not wild about getting the last of the model year, but if I were to get a 2021 I would have to forego the EABC or bump up $15,000 for the GLS 580.

Friends,
my dealer provided me VIN number finally. Any idea how long does it take once they start the assembly?
