Gave my son a project to try on his new 3D printer. A little finesse and paint with added chrome tape. The first prototype was aluminum duct tape and looked pretty good.

Yes Brilliant Blue. The grille quality is good but make sure your grille comes with the new mount/support so you can avoid cutting your old one.
Anyone found a better version of the grill that comes with the "tooth"? I'm surprised Chinese manufacturers haven't improved it by now.
My guess is that they are missing the tooth on purpose to avoid infringing the intellectual property (IP) of Mercedes Benz (i.e., design patents on the “aesthetic appearance” of the AMG grill).

Yes, I've just asked one chinese seller that he is selling in Taobao last night, although the photo they listed is still missing the middle tooth, but he confirmed me that they have new improved version on 2021 and he promised to send me the new version if I place order, I am not sure why don't they post the new improved photo, but they did send me the improved version photos to show me, may be they still have a lot of stock of the old version. If you can't buy from Taobao, you may consider to ask any sellers selling the old version about the new improved version. Just like the cks website selling similar updated version, and it mentions that it's pre-order in around June 2021, I think they are the same updated version from China manufacturer.

So install complete. Overall I love the look of it and really happy with it! I had it installed at a local custom shop and it took them 3 hours. Their words were "it was a big job". Not sure if they just didn't know what they were doing, but thats what it took.

Looks Great. I am thinking of ordering it from CKS for my GLS 580 in gloss black. Does it come with the mount bracket or did you cut your existing bracket.

I reached out to CKS and they got back to me that the bracket is included and no modifications are required to the original bracket.
I just got the grill changed for my GLS580, after picking the car up and reaching home i got radar sensors are dirty message and it turned off distronic, lane keeping assist. Any of you experienced this. I am going to take the car back to the body shop and have them take a look.

check to make sure the radar is plugged in and not obstructed by the X plate that the aftermarket grill comes with. I think that plate is to accommodate non AMG or 580 style bumpers

I highlighted the plate that needs to be removed. There’s 5 screws on it on the grill I had and it was discarded. With it there it obstructs the radar (metal box on the radiator support)

I cannot explain all the 167 model differences but my 2021 GLS 580 did not require the removal of that section you hi-lighted in red. It held another sensor so I used it to hold the old sensor. Maybe 580 option specific vs 450? See post #24 for a picture of my grille installed.

Was busy with other things and took the car to the shop today and got the center piece marked above removed (no other sensors in my car in the center). Car is working perfectly. Thank you
