Gls 2020 screen

Hi there,

just got new gls 450 couple weeks ago, but have issue with the screen - it just turned black yesterday and doesn’t work anymore. Looks like all the systems work (i hear radio and was able to pick up calls), but nothing is displayed. What i did but turned to be not helpful:
1) turn off and on engine (did overnight)
2) push down the volume button between the front seats for 30 seconds (was advised by mersedesme reps, whom i called)

they advised me to drive to dealership, but its not good to drive 30 miles when you even cannot see speedometer. Any advice?

Google Maps also has a speedometer.

This has always been my biggest fear with an all digital dashboard. There is no manual backup at all. You can't even see your warning lights. Hope you can get it fixed.

It's a brand new car and that's a safety issue. Just have them tow it.

For sure should call Roadside Assistance. Everything should be covered under warranty. Can't believe the Rep didn't suggest this.

I was wondering when you'd show up. Have you had a similar problem with your GLE? Oh wait, you don't have one.

Glad to accommodate. There is a reason (actually many) I don't own one. It's an easy pass.

2020 gls 450
Same issue

This same issue happened to me today. I was able to drop it off to the dealership. How did they fix the issue?? I haven’t heard back yet and am curious about the repair and time it took especially since there are no loaners available at the moment … so frustrating. d

I am not surprised. Around 99% of his posts on this X167 forum are slanted.

PFL205.064 with M276.823 (Oil pump solenoid defeated)
Could it be faulty over the air updates? I heard multiple reports on the forums on sudden blacked out screens on W213 pfl and facelifts (although pfl as we all know doesn't use mbux but still...)

Fair enough. My two E classes had ZERO issues for more than six years until I sold them.
My GLS has been to the dealer twice this year and it has less than 7,000 miles.
It is, however, very nice to drive.
