What discounts are people getting?
Pondering an in stock 2020 vs ordering a 2021 GLS450 vs a CPO 2020 GLS580. What kind of discounts are people getting?

I got 12% off msrp with little work. I’m sure I could have gotten a better deal if I had worked a little harder, but we found the one my wife wanted, and we just wanted to move on it, as inventory is somewhat low.

Fyi - I sent emails to every dealership in the area, and told all of them I was doing it. That gets them to make their near best offer pretty quick. I live in the Bay Area though, so MB dealerships are like Starbucks. 😬

I got 6% off MSRP of a custom ordered 2021 GLS580 at Autobahn in Belmont, CA, not including factory incentives like my USAA discount. The other dealers I spoke with would not negotiate and wanted MRSP for a 2021 GLS580.
I was offered $10k off MSRP for on-lot GLS450 at multiple dealers in the Bay Area, without asking or negotiating.
IF it makes you feel better, G-Wagons are seling for $50k over MSRP...

From personal experience shopping in Sept/Oct in So Cal, this is not a good time for scoring deals due to limited inventory. Most dealers in my area weren't willing to offer more than 5-6% off MSRP on GLS450s off their lots and the best I could do was 10% off (compared with my 2017 GLS which I got for 13% off). It might be better to wait if you can as inventory should get better early next year and 2021 model already has around $3K worth of 20-model options as standard.

I think they are going out of, or may already be out of, the “car buying service” aspect of it. I used a $500 USAA manufacturer incentive in August on my GLE 580.
