CarPlay2Air for 2020 MBUX
I was on the notification list for this product which provides wireless Apple CarPlay connect. They just sent me an email that it is now approved for use on our 2020 GLE. I’ve watched some bad reviews of the product on YouTube. However, I decided it would be nice if it would really work, so I dropped $129 to see. I’ll report back once I get it and see how it goes.

Here is the message I received from the Chinese seller: Good news! At the beginning of the month we launched a new firmware release for the CPLAY2air adapter which now supports these brands that we personally tested:
All CPLAY2air adapters purchased from the 4th of November include a new firmware release, you can purchase a CPLAY2air adapter here.
- Land Rover;
- Jaguar;
- Nissan;
- Honda, including Accord and others;
- Mercedes-Benz the newest MBUX 2020 system with USB-C (requires additional adapter from USB-A to USB-C);
- Audi 2020;
- If you have a USB-C system, it requires an additional adapter from USB-A to USB-C.
All CPLAY2air adapters purchased from the 4th of November include a new firmware release, you can purchase a CPLAY2air adapter here.

None of that. The vehicle allows the use of either Apple CarPlay (with Siri) or Android Auto. But you have to connect the phone with a cable to the appropriate USB port in front of the cup holder. This device connects the phone wirelessly, that’s all it does, but a great convenience if it works as advertised.

Hi to All MbWorld Forum members, I just register to forum today. I have 2 questions from experts & user to help me.
I had the all my car spechs from data card, my car have 547 Mbux (Connect 20 Entry NTG6). My car equipped have touch 10.25 Media screen, with Car Play socket preparation.
However when I use Type C to Type A adopter, it is not working and only charged my phone (Apple)
When I also checked the audio menu I can't enable Hey Mercedes skills.
My questions;
1) 548-549 Mbux required for Carplay ? If yes can it upgrade by software or it is hardware.
2) If I dont need any update for 547 Mbux, how can I enable Car Play in my car ?

Well, anybody actually RECEIVED their Carplay2air unit?
I ordered mine over two weeks ago and it said "5-7 days delivery". What a scam! Still hasn't even left china. going to have to report as fraud to the credit card company and get a refund.

I received mine last week. It came through DHL. Once it got to the US, they provided a tracking number that I was able to use to track it. I installed last weekend and except for the fact that the Bluetooth id was VW and not MB, it seems to work as advertised. It automatically connects with my phone every time I start the vehicle. I haven't tried a lot of apps yet but so far, it performs as advertised.

I got mine the other day. It took about 2.5 weeks, the last mile with USPS. Nicely packaged, it works as advertised.

For those with this wireless carplay2air, how is it working for you?
I assume you had to use a dongle to convert to usb c?

Bought it a MONTH ago and it just arrived today. I bought it for my wife's 2020 GLS. But, she just left for a few days so I've hooked it up to my 2019 E450Cab with COMAND. So far, sitting in the garage, it works pretty well. Only two complaints.... 1) COMAND has always been a little wonky with CarPlay. Sometimes it just refuses to connect and you have to unplug and plug in again. 2) There's no room in the cup-holder for the wireless charger, 2 cups AND the carplay2air device. So I either have to. leave it sitting on the wireless charger or in one of the cup holders. I think the GLS is going to have the same exact issue.

It is working fine, you do have a 1 minute (aprox) hook up time. and the screen does not use the full height or width of the mbux screen. But its exactly like hooking up through a wire.
