What goodies / extras / upgrades are you buying for your new GLS?

I'm excited to pick up my new GLS580 in a couple of weeks - I should have it before the end of the year.

In anticipation of taking delivery, this week I purchased:
A 3-row set of Weathertech digital fit floormats in black
https://www.weathertech.com/mercedes...at-package/no/

A set of Canvasback cargo area protectors in black and white plaid
https://www.canvasback.com/mercedes-...ers-40501.html

A Tekonsha 3066-P Wiring Harness to connect to my Prodigy Brake Controller for towing
Amazon Amazon

A heavy duty tire gauge
Amazon Amazon

A windshield brush / scraper
Amazon Amazon

A small Dewalt mechanics toolkit, from Costco
A fastrak toll transponder, from Costco
A bunch of USB-C cords - to USB C, to Apple, and to USB mini

I will also install 3M paint protection film on the front of the truck, and ceramic coat the entire truck.

I'm starting to research:
Roof rack cross bars - I don't love the OEM bars on my GL 350, so I might go with Thule on the GLS X167
Towing mirrors
I would love to find an aftermarket AMG-look diamond front grill

I am noticing that most of my usual parts suppliers do not list the X167 in their online parts finders - which scares me a little bit as I do my own maintenance. On most sites, I'm not finding any parts for the 2020 X167's listed, much less the new 2021's. I was looking for a backup serpentine belt, which I like to carry around just in case - and I am finding nothing. I suspect this is due to Covid-related supply chain problems - I guess in the meantime it means parts from the dealer.

What else are you all buying (and do you love) as add-ons / extras / upgrades for your X167 GLS?

I also didn’t like the OEM bars - particularly with the night package (I wanted black bars). I went with the Thule WingBar Evo over the AeroBlade Edge because I wanted to be able to open the sunroof. I saw photos of another X167 with the WingBar and didn’t like the overhang with the recommended 53” bar. I measured between the rails (46” at the front, about 43” at the back) and thought I could get away with the 47” bars. I learned that this was a bit too narrow (the feet extend out about an inch each side), and the front bar would need to be mounted about half way through the rear window. So I exchanged those for the 50” bars which fit well. A bit of overhang, but significantly better than the 53”.

I did the weather tech across the flooring of the second row (it’s 100% perfect), and went with the MB carpet cargo mat for the back (rubber backed / waterproof). I thought about weather tech for the back area too, but didn’t want stuff sliding around on it (namely the dog). If the MB carpet version gets destroyed after a couple of years, so be it, I’ll buy another. Plus it helps further the sound insulation aspect.

otherwise, just a ceramic and happy motoring since middle of August (and already nearly 9,000 miles!)

From another thread, I discovered this storage tray that fits in the center console. It's a minor item, but one that makes it easier to find some of the little things in the console.

Weather Tech mats 1st and second row and full cargo mat for 5 seater setup, full front PPF, front door tint, front low profile mud flaps, Panamericana grille, Vossen HF5 Satin Black wheels, trailer brake controller. trailer TPMS monitor and trailer camera

Went 21 inch Vossen wheels to get All Season tires which are not available in the 22's it came with.

One of the unique aspects of the new GLS580/450 is that it uses an electric 48volt system with a lithium ion battery to power most of the things that were previously mechanically driven via a serpentine belt. As such, there is no serpentine belt to order from your parts suppliers.

Well isn't that embarrassing... I'll chalk that stupid mistake up to Covid and never opening up the hood on the vehicles we looked at. Should be fun to work on, with plenty of electric motors to fail...

I've got a full got a full Brabus 800 package planned. Includes full power tune, turbos and exhaust. Don't want any aerodynamic styling kit. Just spoke to the factory yesterday, still not available probably another 4 to 6 weeks but doesn't matter because I'm not expected to get delivery until March.
Man many other goodies planned as well. 🤫

interested in this mb carpet cargo mat with waterproof rubber backing. Do you have a part number you can share? I could not find searching.

Any more pics of your car? Been looking at the Thule blades and roof box combos. Looks great, from what I can see
