CCB's only in front for '21 GLS63?
As I was going through the 2021 GLS63 order list I noticed that the price for the optional carbon ceramic brakes were just over half of the usual $9k price. From using a non-US configurator I read that only the front brakes are CCB, (which would explain the price discrepancy) and there is a caliper color difference between the front and rear on the configurator when that option is chosen.
It seems odd to only have it on the front. Does anyone have any clarity on this?
From the "Diplomatic configurator":
AMG high-performance ceramic composite braking system [SA-B07]
4.998,00 €
The AMG ceramic high-performance composite braking system (front axle) is the perfect counterpart to the powerful engine of your AMG. Even under extreme stress, it stands for short stopping distances, precise control and maximum durability. Compared with the standard brakes, it is characterised by low weight and thus enhances agility.

In the 2021 Dealer Order Guide - B07 is the Option Code (not SA-B07) - which is in line with the B07 option code for sedans/coupes etc.
In this case - my "best Guess" is in the SUV's the reason it "is cheaper" is there are fewer brake pistons in the SUV's versus sedans/coupes.
The B07 option for GLS63 - production mid-end/Jan (a total of 2) - then end-March (13) more - then the last (2) on the books are scheduled mid-July.... availability of this option could be a issue.

Don't waste your money on the CCB package. The previous generation X166 63 would stop quicker than a Porsche Cayman S from 60 MPH. Don't think the CCB's will be able to do any better and the fact they are lighter will make no noticeable difference on a 5k+ lb SUV. In addition, MB does not warranty expendables like brake rotors and pads. If the rotors wear out too quickly or need replacement, you will most likely be on your own and they will be more than double the price of your option package.

I actually spent HUGE bucks having CCB installed on my 2019 SL450, for three reasons only: First, they produce ZERO brake dust! My forged, polished aluminum, AMG wheels stay clean, which is a big deal to me. Secondly, the much reduced unsprung weight really is noticeable in the little SL. Thirdly, I just love the way they look! Stopping power? It’s like you dropped anchor!

If you want zero brake dust, ceramic pads on steel rotors do the same. As far as stopping distances, I've yet to see anything that the GLS stops any quicker on CCB's. If so, I'd like to know. You might notice a difference with unspring weight on the SL but the GLS is much heavier and I doubt that it will make much of a notable difference but, yeah, they do look cool and for some that is enough.
MB should take lessons from Porsche on CCB’s. You can order the CCB option on most any Porsche, without having to load up the vehicle with a bunch of unwanted equipment.

I don't see anything in this link for a GLS X167 or GLE V167 - what is there available for the X167?
