No they didn’t mention anything about pricing, except I did notice
that the SA kept repeating the MSRP that had the VIN. He emailed me a copy. I was shocked because the total was $108k.

2022 GLS 450 w/ AMG Night (22" AMG Wheel)
I think the MSRP is high becuase they were not sure what is the 2022 GLA base price will be at that time of ordering. So they just put in a 99999 as a place holder.
As far as i know, theres no 2022 GLS pricing yet (supposed to be released in September but it didnt). My guess is becuase they need to calculate how much "more" they need to set due to all the parts shortage and demands..etc...

So the 2022 GLS pricing is out. My crook dealership refused to sell it back to me now and told me I need to pay 12k above MSRP despite what i had in the sales agreement back in Feb 2021 for 3k below MSRP.
They basically told me to fk off and can refund my deposit if i like. "Take it or leave it".
They wasted my time from Feb 2021 but I kind of saw that happening in July when they sold my 2021 car to another customer. I filed a few BBB complain against them, and ordered a Tesla and another GLS from another dealership instead.
The dealership i went to is Silver Stars Mercedes in Long Island City and the salesman is Cliff Chen. Never ever go to that dealership.

They sold your first order to another customer who was more than willing to pay a big premium above MSRP, versus selling it to you at a $3K discount. For that second order, that $12K premium is now "standard" for some dealers because they have customers willing to pay that premium. In economics, we call it price equilibrium. The final price is what the seller is willing to sell and what the buyer is willing to pay. It is as basic as buying stocks and toilet paper. By the way, I am an economist.
Sometime in February, I posted a cautionary message to the forum that the chip supply and automotive parts lack of inventory would make MBs a sellers market. I also advised everyone to just purchase whatever you can find in the lot and forget about ordering a custom car because it aint going to happen. Heeding my own advice, I cancelled my order with MB Manhattan and bought my GLS from Seattle, Washington. Yes, I had to pay $2,500 to ship it from across the country. I did have to convince them to sell it to me, as they would rather sell it to their local / usual customers in the area. Since I was willing to pay - zero discounts -, I was able to convince them.
Good luck.

fortunately, my sales associate honored a deal we agreed to in january for a car that was delivered in may when the supply pretty much went dry. they're a volume dealer and had only 2 other GLSs on the lot the day i took delivery. i didn't put any money down, nor did i sign any papers, but he did remind me that i got in at just the right time. i fully expected him to renege on the deal and he didn't. if i need another mercedes one day, i won't hesitate to go back, nor would i hesitate to send prospective buyers to him. perhaps this is the long game he's playing.

By the way, these salespersons are simply following orders from the GM of the dealership. They don't really have a choice if the GM tells everyone to slap a $15,000 premium to all car sales regardless of initial agreements and even with deposits. At the end of the day, the dollars paid to them are the same green color regardless of who the ultimate buyer will be.

You got your car just at the cusp of the supply problems. Had that car been delivered to your dealer two months later, they would probably have charged you a premium.

Pretty happy with my 450 that I received in March, but thought about an upgrade to a 580 with E-ABC. However, the prices I saw were 15 to 30K over MSRP, but understandable given the shortage of these cars. So decided to wait for the EQS SUV next year and give that a test drive.

My SA gave me a screenshot of internal system which shows production date at 15th Oct. I ordered as well in March, not sure when I will get mine delivered.

I still am waiting for confirmation for delivery date, which may be another 2 months.

I see the GLS580 being unavailable for the 2022 model year has forced MBUSA to finally offer the AMG package on the GLS450! Look it what it took for them to do this. Ridiculous, as it should have been done years ago.

We placed our order in August, and were told it would be built on October 19, then delivered in November. I got a call on Oct 21 from the salesman telling me that the vehicle was on a truck headed to Houston! So my schedule was better than I expected. I had been out of town, and had to return early. While driving into Houston from the east on I-10 yesterday we passed a car carrier loaded with GLS’s. I briefly got excited, but ours wasn’t on it.

Just ordered ours about a week ago after the dealer gave my late Nov build date to a higher paying buyer. We used a broker who got us MSRP. New date isn't until 3rd week of Feb with delivery in middle of march. If this falls through I'm going to start taking the bus.
