Prepaid maintenance and extended warranty prices
Hi,
I'm buying a new GLS 450 (2022) next month, at which point I'll need to make a decision whether to purchase extended warranty (say 7 years / 100k miles) and prepaid maintenance.
What prices would make a good deal / acceptable deal / horrible deal for each ? If it matters, I'm based in Northern California (South Bay).

I actually have info on this. I’m in norcal too. I read through these threads and found that there are two other non-local dealers that will sell you the PPM for $2850 and the $100k extended warranty for $4250. I just purchased my car yesterday (even though it isn’t in my hands) and the dealer matched the PPM but I will be purchasing the 100k warranty with one of these guys because my dealer couldn’t go as low. The dealer confirmed you have 30 days to purchase it with another dealer.

I second jjackson@mblouisville.com . It was an extremely easy process and his price was a no-brainer vs my local where I purchased the vehicle at. Those who do not get a price from him are simply tossing thousands of dollars into the trash with their local dealers when the buy the car.

Don't believe the dealer should be the number one rule for anything.
I third Jeff at MB Louisville. Very easy process and cheaper than the dealer.

And a follow up question: is it important to buy the Extended Warranty within 30 days of the original purchase, or can you do it anytime before the expiration of the New Vehicle Warranty ?

It doesn't matter where you purchase the warranty from, as long as it is from an authorized source. I bought my 22 GLS 450 from a local dealer (VA), then bought the warranty from Jeff 28 days later.
