2024 GLS Driver Display to Bright at night
Good morning to everyone
I have 2024 GLS 450
since owning the car ive been having troubles with the brightness of the drivers display cause i can not adjust the brightness at night.
its too bright and it reflects on the door windoow
Can anyone tell me how to adjust the brightness?
The center screen can be lowered but not the drivers?
Its there a night mode?

If you've already adjusted the dimmer switch/roller on the panel with the headlight switch then your next bet would be to change the display theme to a darker one- prerefresh i would say sport theme had the dark dials which is not as bright, postrefresh I think the sport theme has the red on black background which still is pretty dark, too. The Understated theme is also darker but lacks a lot of information. If you have a HUD you can use it to display the stuff you're missing.

Yes, the keyword is "should". As I and others have pointed out in the past, MBUX continues to be buggy and missing features. Prior generations have a physical knob, typically near the light switch, to adjust the instrument cluster brightness. I'm assuming you are familiar with such a knob from older cars. In the absence of physical knobs and buttons in the latest models, the functionally of the knob is supposed to be available via the touchscreen. So as said, you should have two sliders under the display brightness settings in MBUX. One for the instrument cluster aka driver display and one for the center display. If you don't have one for the driver display and there isn't a physical knob near the light switch, then that's a bug. Take it in and ask them how you are supposed to adjust the brightness of the driver display w/o such a slider. In addition, there are ambient light sensors. With that, like what happens on smartphones and laptops, the displays should automatically dim at night and get brighter during the day, so you can read them in various light conditions. So it's also possible that your ambient light sensor is faulty.

My situation is that i also own a 2020 land cruiser prado 150 series...
once you turn the light at night....
the cluster dims a lot... and then you can manually dim it a loot more...
and the center screen a lot too...
The bmw x6 g06 2020 40i.... also hss a night mode for the instruments...
but how can this car being so new.... has. Such a displaay that is soooo bright

Maybe go to your dealership and check out another model for comparison. Yours might just have a malfunction. I remember a thread from maybe a couple of months ago where somebody had issues with the brightness not being consistent between the driver display and the center display. I don't quite remember if they got it resolved, though.

I guess the issue here is that we don't really know what is bright to you and not having seen your car I can't tell if there's a malfunction. I have not driven a GLS, but I've driven many other models with the same setup and MBUX system as your GLS. I've driven them at night and during the day and I never had an issue with the driver display being too bright at night, including my own car that is 6 years old now. The display dims at night as it should and I've been able to adjust the brightness to a comfortable level. Never had a loaner with the newer MBUX systems ever be too bright at night. The brightest part is often the disco ambient light, but that can be dimmed as well.

The 2020 GLE didn’t have this issue it’s an issue with the refreshed model. It’s too bright for night driving and can’t be dimmed much by the dimmer switch next to headlight. Mercedes has a huge quality control issue. In general
as long we keep buying they will keep making faulty cars.
the EQS SUV is built in Germany on the same line as the S class and can see world of a difference.

That's not correct. The EQS SUV is built in the USA at the Tuscaloosa plant in Alabama just like the GLS, GLE and EQE SUV. You are thinking of the EQS sedan, which is built in Sindelfingen, Germany, same factory the S Class is being built. The SUVs are primarily built in the USA as it's the largest SUV market. The exceptions were the GLB and GLC, but the GLC production is being moved to Alabama now, too and the GLB is built in Mexico. There have been numerous build quality complaints with vehicles coming out of the Alabama factory. The only large SUV that's built in Europe is the G wagon, which is built on contract by Magna Steyr in Austria.
