On a similar subject, I am working on an Island-wide rally for the AMG HUI that will be supervised, directed and sanctioned by the SCCA. This could go down in April or November.
I need a solid head-count of how many of our crew would be interested in participating in order to make it worthwhile. (Magic number is 15 cars) And you will need a driver and navigator.
In order to do this, we are required to pay a 1 time fee to SCCA Hawaii for their support throughout the day. I leave it to the HUI to decide if we want to invite the BMW and Porsche Clubs to participate. Because it's sanctioned, our finishing stats would be entered into a national competition. (Personally, I wouldn't mind it being just AMG's if we can get more than 15 cars)
Please let me know your thoughts, ideas, whatevahs. I gotta get back to SCCA by first week in March.
Mahalos!

You know I am in, just have to have a good heads up now till work slows.
I like the all AMG thing but if we need more then I guess we need to open it up.
Speaking of heads up what are we doing 22 FEB?

Count me in for the rally. I wouldn't mind opening it up so we could compete against other clubs if we wanted to. I could do a ride tomorrow if a few more people are interested.

EY! For Rides of March I'll have a"ride-along" friend in my unit that will do some goPro footage and stills. He'll get some good rolling shots of us along the way too. Let's try to break past 12 AMGs for this!

So it was organized anarchy but it was a really fun time. Mike, I met your friend Daniel there. I'll gladly go to that again!

suspension work
Aloha,
Been a while since I've been on here. Just sold my 06 CLS55 and got a 2012 CLS 63. Problem is this is as high as a truck compared to my CLS55! Gonna get some wheels and tires, and maybe lower it with something like these:
http://velosdesignwerks.com/product/...-kit-25325044/
wheels, still searching, but size would be thus:
20x9 ( 255/30/20)
20x11 (305/25/20)
Anyone know of a shop that would perform the install on the KW's? I'm too chicken to do suspension stuff other than breaks and rotors. Also, I'm guessing this would subject the car to Recon huh? Or would it if no aftermarket shocks, just springs....Any input would be helpful.
CLS AMG parking only...ha, ok, 55 is now sold.

Edit to say good to see another phantom in the area. I'll have mine for a few more months before I join the AMG club. I've seen the 55 down by White Plains a few times but your other half was driving.
