I used Hawaiian Island Auto Detailing at Restaurant Row when I had a serious waterspot problem on a black Infiniti I owned a few years back. He did a very good job and uses high quality products.
If you want your car to really look good, it takes multiple cleaning and polishing steps to remove all of the fine scratches, waterspots, etc. - a routine wash and wax won't do it. A synthetic sealant like Zaino will last a long time and provide a nice, glassy shine, whereas a carnauba wax isn't as durable but gives the deep, wet shine.
I generally hand wash my cars myself weekly, and polish/wax semi-annually with my orbital buffer and Pinnacle products.

I've heard that one of the salepeople at the dealership readily gives out badges to buyers who walk in asking, "which car is the best?" The sales pitch goes something like, "I can save you $XX thousand, and will throw in the badges because that's the only way anyone can tell the difference." Not to generalize, but he targets a very specific demographic in Honolulu...

where to tint
do any of you guys have any recs on tinting places. i am thinking about going to T&T since they're the only one on island who has the pinnacle ceramic tint. i am also uncomfortable in the fact that they may need to take apart the door panels to tint the windows. any thoughts? thanks.

I usually go to Pro Tint. They also take the panels off but do an excellent job. So far, they've done my C63, ISF, and a friend's 335i and IS350. They use ceramic film that most people on the board say is better than formula one film. If you'd like a referral for a discount just pm me.

ace glass tinting only because they have the huper optik tint film. Best film by far but it comes with a premium price. Ask for a demo with the heat lamp. You'll be sold in seconds.

Anyone go to the car show this weekend? 1 AMG S55, 1 E500, and 2 M3's. Where the rest of the M-Series and AMG crowd at? Anyone planning on attending HIN and actually putting your AMG in? I'm thinking about it...

I went on Saturday night. I usually hang out with the Club Lexus guys and went to support some of them. My dirty IS F was also the Adam's demo detail car. Euro cars are definitely under represented at shows. I intend to keep my C63 stock so no chance for me at HIN. It would be nice to see another AMG at HIN though!

Hawaii here
Hey there, I just left the BMW realm and I've been an owner of a Black CLS55 AMG. I've been in Iraq for the past 5 months, so Wife has been the primary driver. Back for 2 weeks. I've always serviced my cars myself, but this is my first Benz. and since I'll be gone, wife must take care of it. I've heard of and know of the mark up at stealer-ships, what are the recommended service locations were wife can bring car in without worry and get quality work/service if need be? I saw one post in a search for a-1 euro auto..howzit?
