FS: Authentic, yet custom Brabus R171 Illuminated Shift Knob
I bought this a while ago, and once I bought my C55, I never used it. I recently found the shift knob while cleaning out my random car stuff and decided to give it an update. The original alcantara suede was kinda dirty and dusty after sitting in the garage for a bit too long. And of course, if My hands were sweaty, who would want a used shift knob like that!
Anyways, what was modified...
The original alcantara was removed, and replaced it with Carbon Fiber Fabric. it's wrapped 99% perfect because there is always room for improvement. The whole brushed silver was refinished, i took the whole shift knob apart, cleaned everything, wiped everything down. re-assembled everything. I also replaced the crappy LED that Brabus had included (yuck), it was a 0.01+/- watt LED powered with resistors.
I swapped it with a Nichia Chip, its 12v no resistors. High powered.

You can see the beam spread below...
Of course, to make it original, it has to have that orange glow from the original shifter. I had to use 4 color swatches from RoscoLux Filter Gels to give it the same color as the original Brabus Shift Knob.
Why do I have all that equipment? Because I am a Lighting Designer, so the chip/filter is top notch.
Anyways, too long of a story. $180 obo.
Please note that the original shifter was $375, I'm open to offers, but if you're a low baller. Sorry!
I have to say, the B brabus logo is not in the best condition. But you can see from the pictures below.
