Trade Feeler: W211 Center Console
I have a console like the one in the attached photo on the left, but the one I have has black leather. It's in excellent condition and shows no scuff marks, scratches or fading.
I'm looking to trade it with the tab-type console that's black in color. See second attached photo on the right. Wood color doesn't matter.

Do you still have the newer style "tool-top" console? Do you know whether it can swap it for the "clam-shell" console (black) in my 2004 E500? I might be interested.
Thanks,
Mark

If you do the swap you will also need to swap the base of the shifter (old style has a rectangular opening, the new style has an oval opening, you can see this on the pics you posted). I have not done the swap, just pointing it out.

Sorry to pull up a dated thread, but is this a straight-forward swap if you have the shifter base and clam-shell type console, to replace the roll-top?
I'm considering buying an 05 E55, and I would like to swap for 2 reasons:
1) I tend to lean on my console most of the time, the roll-top looks uncomfortable.
2) I hate wood-grain, and the roll-top will be difficult to cover up or change from the wood look.
Thanks.

2004 E55, silver with Pano roof, keyless go, and everything except the dynamic and ventilated front seats. 130K miles, good history, very well kept, only asking $10,900 at a dealer. I think this falls into the great deal category.
