Risk-tolerant investors looking for the next big winner from the EV space might want to put ChargePoint Holdings (NYSE: CHPT) stock on their radars -- if not in their portfolios -- sooner than later. It's trading at a discount right now, but this may not be the case for much longer.
I guess I might buy a few thousand more. Oh yeah, already did. Hopefully they don't reverse split and dilute for operating capital.. though that's what Fisker should have done to avoid delisting and bankruptcy... anywhosies.

Ouch!
I guess I'm going to stop buying and hodl (hold). Got 80% of my position loaded. Will have to wait and see how low she'll go now. What bothers me here is management seem to be oblivious to the stock price and instead of coming out with some good news, any good news really, insiders are actually SELLING. Yeah, yeah, shares were probably locked up and that was the first opportunity but it sends the wrong message to investors.
As a novice investor, and a novice car guy who is an EXPERT at paying too much at the pump....if I had a large holding in an (false) EnviroScam like the EV's - with the new leadership in the US (a real leader) who had run on lowering the cost of energy at large (meaning fossil fuels). Well, I would not invest in the EV structure at all. As it is only the top 1 or 2% can afford an EV, or can use the EV as their only form of transportation. I would avoid everything EV (or futures, stocks, trades) until the fossil fuel arena shakes out. If the cost of fuel is lower the impetus for people to purchase an EV for a lower cost of living simply goes away. Plus, now that we see so many aging out with a massive TCO...they are becoming less and less attractive as anything more than a circus ride for rich folks - kinda like a (911 Turbo S).
Had I not glanced at the main page of this forum, I wouldn't have known there was an investing section. Interesting. As for EVs I love driving my car. Not because of regulations or what have you, but because driving with electric propulsion, irrespective of brand, is a game changer. It's that good.

Sure, they are fun to drive. Well, until if you are like me there is a sudden long trip where planning is needed (as planning IS needed). My neighbor got a Tesla Plaid for about three months (it sat next to their MASSIVE Dodge trucks, RV and 32' center console boat). It had a neat factor like a ride at Universal Studios. My next-door neighbor converted his golf cart chargers in the garage (five cars worth of garage space....) to charge the Tesla. The electric bill drive him over the edge....LOL.
For a long long time they are going to be an oddity for those who can afford to play (yours is easily a $100k car, something 99% of society can not attain). Are then fun off the line? Sure. We shall see what the result is after the massive loss of infrastructure in Cali (post fire)....I wonder if it will takes weeks and months to rebuild as it did in FL after the hurricanes last year. Those of us buying Dino had to wait at times 24 hours...max. These situations will of course manipulate the stock - to that I have to assume that Trump will wisely cut off any Federal Funding or tax breaks for the EV companies. Musk will do just fine with out the tax dollars......

That's why I won't donate to the "victims" of California wildfires. People wanted to keep driving their diesel pickup truck to Walmart everyday and now they're complaining about no water due to global warming. Laughed in the face of a diesel truck driving guy begging for lung cancer treatment money too. Oh well, you wanted to be a pig and drive a diesel so I have no sympathy for you.
As for EV stocks, I'm still holding 10X as many shares of Xpeng as I own of CHPT. People in other parts of the world aren't as selfish as Americans:

... and to add insult to injury on a planetary scale, TV "news" is already trying to blame Trump for all the China tariffs. Yeah, right! And everything happening in Gaza is Netanyahu's fault. It's just those "far-right" guys. So please take note that EV tariffs quadrupled under Biden and all the environmental mandates were discarded while Democrats were still in charge of everything. There's no one else to blame, except maybe the steaming pile of dookie "news".

As the electric vehicle (EV) market charges forward, ChargePoint Holdings, a leader in EV charging networks, is commanding attention from investors. Founded in 2007, ChargePoint has become synonymous with public and private EV charging stations, boasting the most extensive network in North America and Europe. However, the conversation around ChargePoint stock ($CHPT) is intensifying as the world accelerates toward sustainable transportation.
In the rapidly evolving landscape of electric vehicles (EVs), ChargePoint Holdings Inc. (CHPT) is preparing for a strategic leap that could redefine its market position. As the world’s largest network of independently owned EV charging stations, ChargePoint is set to expand its horizon beyond just charging stations, with ambitions to become an all-encompassing energy solutions provider.

They finally caught on to the reverse split to avoid delisting and immediate dilution for operating capital trick. Looks like share printing operation is closing down boys. No more rinse and repeat. Second time around and delisting is immediate. Oh well, you missed your chance Fisker! *sigh*
Nasdaq has “observed that some companies, typically those in financial distress or experiencing a prolonged operational downturn, engage in a pattern of repeated reverse stock splits,” which Nasdaq believes is “often indicative of deep financial or operational distress within such companies rendering them inappropriate for trading on Nasdaq for investor protection reasons.” Often, Nasdaq observes, these challenges are not temporary, as these companies continue to waver between compliance and non-compliance.

ChargePoint truly deserves the dumpster fire meme at this point:
I bought just enough to bring my average down to $1 but like the saying goes, "Don't throw good money after bad!" I'm now in a holding pattern with this one. Moving on to more exciting trades...

ChargePoint showed some signs of life today. Earnings coming up. Probably wont be good but then again probably wont be as bad as people are expecting either. I added a little more but quite frankly, unless there's an upside surprise in the earnings report, I'm probably going to bail at the first opportunity on this one. Has the potential to be a multi-bagger but I just really hate the amount of naked shorting by market makers in the USA. Would rather invest in stocks that trade on less corrupt exchanges like Hong Kong where they don't need a Regulation SHO.

Xpeng is on fire! It's so nice trading on the Hong Kong exchange, for a change. Market Makers can't manipulate depository receipts as easily. I mean, they can, but all they accomplish by naked shorting is giving me an opportunity to buy shares at a discount. That's why I bought more XPEV at $15.50 last week. The real trading happens here: https://finance.yahoo.com/quote/9868.HK/ Just convert Hong Kong dollars to US dollars, in this case 68.35 = 8.79 US, and since one depository receipt is equal to two actual shares multiply by 2 to get $17.58

MMs have washed out all the shares they can from weak hands. CHPT might actually get back to a buck now that they've covered. Should have listened to Bruce!
It is fun to drive around an electric vehicle for me too. But only if it is a golf cart, fully charged so that I can spin doughnuts, and get air over sand traps. The more you drive it like you stole it, or at least like it’s a rental, the more fun it is to drive. Come to think of it, it is a rental. My brother in law has his own golf cart, but he won’t let me drive it.
Any other electric vehicle just doesn’t do it for me.
Maybe they should have listened to people who actually like EVs and made the changes those people were requesting instead of "rethinking" their whole electrification strategy.

If you want MORE fun...(and really, the only valid reason to be on a golf course).....well, just take out your E-Bike at about midnight or so on a full moon night. Head to the golf course (do not forget a bag of marshmallows). Toss the white clouds of heaven all over the greens, near holes....golfers LOVE it when marshmallows are all over the course....
They made it better looking and gave it a NACS port. Mercedes kept the jellybean/egg shape almost everyone hates and CCS. Hyundai also brought back physical buttons for a lot of thing which I'm sure wasn't a cheap change. Not only that, they even gave us an off-road version with all-terrain tires. I can't even get that on an electric G wagon. Mercedes even insisted on putting that stoopid little box on the back that might as well have a sign that say "$20 worth of copper inside" on it for all the homeless people to see. And of course, there's absolutely no way to get a spare tire on an electric G, so quit asking already!

ChargePoint just can't seem to catch a break. Wish I had taken my own advice and not thrown good money after bad. Definitely not buying any more though, ever.

The problem with Mercedes' sales in China is nobody wants EVs. It has absolutely nothing to do with quality and price of their vehicles. I know because real TV news says so. Bwahahahaha!

Hit my number of $22.22 but I didn't sell. Rumor is they may announce profitability by end of year during next earning's conference call (soon). If so, next stop looks about $35ish and if we blow through that it's going to $50.

No fees or commissions these days so might as well take your time and buy in slowly. That way you don't have to worry about the wash sale rule. Just a little more work for the accountant.
I took some gains late last year. Wishing I had kept all those shares right now though. Xpeng is on fire!
