G35>CLK 320

And as the above post stated a G35=CLK 430 until high speeds when the larger V-8 opens up.

Don't sleep, very swift cars, the G35

And with the 2007 G coming out with well over 300hp, C & CLK class cars won't have a chance. You'll need an AMG to beat it.

Oh, I predict that the upcoming CLK550, with 380 horsepower and one more gear, will handle it just fine....

You mean 2 more gears...going from 5 to 7.

Stick G35's are quick with the proper drivers. But since I've only raced them with the big white thing in my sig I won't discuss the details.

No, I meant one more gear, going from six to seven. I was thinking of the six speed model. I doubt the car mentioned in the original thread post was an auto....

Damn. I thought you slipped up and jumped at the chance

Just to redeem myself, let me just point out that the CLK550 will have 382 horses

Well, the car could have been a five speed....but I was still thinking of a six!

Lol! Yeah, but if past experience is any indicator, they'll probably derate it so that it doesn't have the same HP as the S...although waitaminute, they may not, as I don't think they do this on non-AMG models, so it may be 382 after all!

Most people wouldn't bother modding an auto when a stick is available, with better performance, that can handle more power without having to tear it apart. So I also agree that it was probably a 6-speed G35.

No offense, but I really think it is the G35 driver error that cost the race. CLK320 is not only heavy but also slow. I've seen members from other MB forum trying to tell the world that they beat my debagged C55 with stage 2 mods.

As with my Subaru STi @ 425WHP, I almost lost to a CLS55 because I was dicking around toying with the guy off of the start. Not to discredit your story, but if it was a CLK55, the kill will be more believable.
