The C5 owner mentioned 490 Hp (flywheel) in N/A format which is utter BS (even modded). A C5 Z06 with H/C, full exhaust, CAI, tune, etc is lucky to see that power & this guy's C5 is NOT a Z06. He's a legend in his own mind :p .

Why? It's a completely different car that is wickedly fast but serves other purposes as well ( cruising in serious style). The Corvette's they've been making over the past couple of years are incredible machines and great baragains, and I don't fault anyone for buying one. But comparing that to driving a sl55 just because it might be faster? Come on.

But yeah, $10 grand will build you a car that is much faster in the 1/4 mile than almost any car, but at the end of the day you would still be driving a chit box! The Corvette is what it is, an All-American hero with the american philosiphy - raw, untamed power, with some handling added. An MB is comfortable power, a car to drive in all day.

Say what you want about Benz vs. Vette, I just think that it says alot that 4 STOCK Benz LUXURY sedans (S600, S65, CLS55, E55) outrun America's premiere, most advanced sports car, the C6 Corvette in the 1/4 mile. I don't care what you say about cost, because America's highest priced sedans can't hold a candle to Germany's mid-level sedans. I think that this is really very sad.

The spoiler is for the Cobra, at about 120mph the front end goes light, so I'm either going to design a skirt to stop the air from going under the car, or build a small spoiler to bolt onto the frame in the front that will come down with the push of a button. Im leaning towards the latter because it would be easier and hidden. Want to keep the classic lines.
