From the title you can already tell this didnt go well for me. In short I GOT OWNED.

Im flying back from boston at around 90mph on I-95, I was playing with a C43 ( dead even runs from 80 to 120, we just kept on passing each other and toying for 40 miles ) And then low and behold I come upon a X5. I thought it was a 3.0 because of the wheels. Turns out they were winter tyres. I blast by him at 95 ( just cruising towards NYC ) This guy immediately jumps on my ***, and Im thinking ha a 3.0 wants to play. I put my foot down to the floor, and hes just there, I hit 125, and hes STILL THERE. Now I am worried, did I just pick a fight with a 4.8is? I let him pass me, then I see the Dinan quad exhaust, the little spoiler touches, the whole car is lowered.. Oh boy, he takes off (cruising at 80 ) and gets 4-5 lengths on me by the time we hit 125. I pull up next to the guy, to warn him about radar going off, I ask him if its a 4.8, he says oh yeah plenty dinan stuff under here too. None the less Sweet car, and I didnt mind getting owned too much =). I just wish I could afford some renntech or brabus under my hood.

stick a 55k engine (from a junyard, orchech the classifieds itl b cheaper) in there and convert it to rear wheel drive

342 HP isn't what it used to be! Most everything on the road is pushing close to 300 or above. We need more HP! ML63 yeah that's what I'm talking about!

Dinan is over priced crap i know someone with a full Dinan M3 without the supercharger dinan now offers, he cant pull on a stock M3 its still a drivers race he wont tell me how much he spent but i bet he spent close to 15 grand with the install and all, go to the M3 forums and search in a few cases Dinan mods have lost HP.

Overpriced? No no no no no...

BRABUS RENNTECH AND KLEEMANN ARE OVERPRICED, I cant afford any mods, if I had an X5 id have a throttle control body (500) and a chip (500) and a high flow exhaust 1200. A Chip for the ML costs 1800, and there are virtually no mods.

Well maybe its different on the SUVs but i know on the M3 i had to get a chip done first at $1,200 before they would put in the exhaust which is another 2 grand so just for an exhaust system they wanted 3,200. Yes the mercedes tuners are more expensive and its not cost effective to mod a none AMG car. But i know with BMW you can go else where and its cheaper where mercedes you are kind of stuck with a few tuners.

isnt it a 4.6is? i've never heard of a 4.8....unless its brand new i guess that would make sense.

There are no options for Dinan on a 4.8is (only a throttle body which they claim 7hp, and not tested, and strut brace, which also means he couldn't get a real DINAN badge due to lack of points), plus a 4.8 has dual exhaust not 4 tip, it was probably a 4.4i non-valvetronic (i.e. pre '04)

There are few Dinan mods for the 4.8is.
They cut frame for some BMW's for their products. Not cool.
