C350 vs 2006 TL
Ok, so I'm heading into Chicago for a nice drive before I hafta go to work again tomorrow. Cruising down I90 with the flow of traffic. All of a sudden I look up and my rear view is covered by a black 2006 TL. He passes me doing about 75mph but we're in a bit of traffic so he dosen't go far. I decide to follow. We weave through the traffic together and right as we get to the last car we both hit it. I'm still behind him at this point. The road is open at this point and I immediately start pulling on him and pass him pretty easily. We hit traffic again. This time I'm in front. Again we weave through together. As we get another opening I hit it again. Not only could he not pass, I was pulling on him pretty hard. We hit traffic for the last time. I pull over to the center lane. He comes up, looks over, gives a thumbs up. As any gentleman would do, I look over at him, smile and return the thumbs up.

4 wheels
The C350 has 268hp and the TL has something like 255 or 260. Simply put both are amazing engines and to be honest the TL just needs a few more gears and it will really help in the top end.
I get a grin on my face everytime behind the wheel of the TL or the E350.

Can't wait till I go against something with a VQ35.... I think I'll have a G35 Sedan, close on the G35 Coupes and either match or get edged out by the newer 350Z's.

as a former owner of a Acura CL type S 3.2 (260hp)
loved the engine... way better then G35 VQ35 engine of my former sedan and alot smoother than my current 3.2L Kompressor.
Frankly, the C32 is powerful, but it is quite rough around the edges.
The new 3.5L MB engine makes as much power as the Acura and alot more torque where it counts, due to the 7 speed.
The 5 speed Acura transmission have terrible 4th and 5th gear. They prefer to save gas then give you better performance.
3rd gear on the acura is quite powerful and it reaches all the way to 105+mph. I used to pass cars on this gear. But once 4th reached, it was over for me.
The MB transmission will keep the power and torque present at all speeds and there you see the difference in performance.
The G35 automatic had a short 3rd and 4th and very good 5th. If I was bettin man, you will do good against the autos but even with the manuals. They have good torque down low, but fall from power on the high end.
I love the Acura engine, too bad they lack torque and power. I think Acura will start to use Turbo on their engines. From the NAIAS, Acura introduced its first 2.3L Turbo engine. If only that turbo can find its self to an V6 + TL SH-AWD, and 6 speeds, it would be a real winner against the likes of a G35, IS350, C350

Yes, I too was one an owner of a J series engine. Unfortunately for me, it was a J30A1 (2001 Honda Accord EX V6).
LOL, you described 3rd gear VTEC perfectly!!! Hahahahhaa
The more I drive this car, the more impressed with both the M272 and the 7G. The car seems to want to go at any speed and is almost always ready to accelerate. The only thing I can think of that would be better would be a 7 speed SMG.

previously to my CL type S, I had a 98 EX V6 coupe, just like yours. 4 sp Auto, and i would drive the car in 3rd all the time. No need for the 4th gear.
Now you can have a Accord coupe (244ph) with a manual but the lack of LSD and FWD is just not a good combo.
on a different NOTE:
One of my earlier posts a few months, I asked our members about the kompressor for the new MB 3.5 engine with 7 speed auto. I think Kleeman would be the first to do it. when available, the kompressor for your car would make it a mini beast in sheeps clothing.
That is my biggest gripe about my C32, I wished it had the 7 speed auto.
