50-100 against an M5
Not really a kill but a nice run none the less. Caught in traffic with an M5 in front of me. We jockeyed through traffic and I made the lane changes move for move with him. We were coming up on an opening in the right lane and I knew he was going to switch lanes and punch it. Sure enough he downshifted and nailed it as he switched lanes. I was about 2 car lengths behind him by the time that I switched lanes and kept that distance until we both slowed down at 100. I think he was surprised because he porbably thought it was a normal C class in his mirror. He slowed way down so that he could see what kept up and gave me a thumbs up. Good to know that I can keep pace with a v-10. He probably would have the advantage the faster we went.

Your talking about the untouchable new M5? Racing that from 50-100 should have put a bus length on your C32 might even be able to put a car length on an E55. I have tangoed with an E55 in the M3 and the E55 just smoked the crap out of me.

I agree partially, there is no way that a stock C32 will keep up with the new M5. At the same time an M5 will not put a car length on an E55 anywhere from 0-100mph. Only after the cars hit triple digits will the M5 slowly pull away from the E55 because of the V10.

Slow down everyone, I made a mistake about the engine. The car was an E39 M5, which had a v-8 rather than the new v-10. Based on the specs below from Car and Driver, it seems the C32 is very close based on HP vs. weight.
2000 BMW M5
Engine Location Front
Drive Type Rear Wheel
Body Material Steel unibody
Production Years for Series 1998 - 2003
Price $72,000.00
Weight 4000 lbs | 1814.4 kg
Performance
0-60 mph 4.9 seconds.
Top Speed 155 mph | 249.4 km/h
I know that the guy was pushing it because the car squated and smoke came out his exhaust when he gun it. I am not saying that I beat him, merely that I was with him stride for stride.

stock vs stock... the E39 will pull the C32, but it will be close. It traps higher, therefore once in motion the M5 will start putting some distance.
Most E39 drivers love those cars and really know how to use them. I would love to own one, but rowing 6sps around So Cal is not very practical.
I love that body style compared to the new one.
I hope to run with one, but i have 3 tickets right now, therefore I need to focus my adrenaline towards something else if given the opportunity.

I think you are confused. I said it was an E39. That car will not put bus lengths on a C32. In fact, it really comes down to a drivers race. Who gets the jump, how many passengers. They have 394 HP and weigh about 4000 lbs. The C32 has 349 HPand weighs about 500 lbs less. They only power button that would make them pull bus lenghts would be n2o.

I was referin to the E60, since you made the mistake of telling us it had a V10...
you can see my 2nd response once YOU made it clear it was the previous generation...
and yes E60 will put bus lenghts on the C32..
