Talking CLK50K first killed & second....

Typhoon was gone, few cars on the road, I was testing my delimiter,260 km/hr was "EASILY" past, needle stuck there
Digital speed stuck,too. this's a factory 260 km/hr speedo.
Check the rpm, it keeps moving, 5500 and I slow down for upcoming traffic...... boring
White beam showed on my rear mirror, HID, must be a nice car
Let it pass, Bingo ! a silver F355 was right in front of me !
Hard to believe I met one on the highway, very few F355
sold here in Taiwan.
He was running 120 km/h and I jump to his side, he saw me and want to show me what a Ferrari is
I pulled, not too much effort, 4 cars length ahead of him while
F355 was demo his power , a totally shock to him, WTF this silver
Mercedes is ???? he followed and checked me in the back.
Weaved traffic, we're side by side again, 2nd run, same result
I was ahead few cars length at 180+ km/h
Then I slow down to let him enjoy my HID 10K*4
The blue & pale beam on his mirror.
3rd run, I was chasing him from the back, past him at 180 km/hr and pulled far away to 220 km/hr, the F355 slow down, very slow to the speed limit 100 km/hr, looked like he giveup !
Exit upfront, closed my first killing, F355 is not a rival to me.

Local agent introduced CLK240,320 only, not performers.
a new BMW735 (272 hp) saw me cruising at 110 km/h
He thought "What a fresh meat with sorry 218 hp, the new model of CLK ? " " It must be delicious"
Then he jumped on me by 140+ km/hr and ready to enjoy a
great meal, "Fried CLK" .....
Sorry, I should put the badge back, at least it shows "500"
Bloody slaughter, poor guy in BMW735, the last second he
saw me, he's going to bite me.
Really sorry to leave him hungry and can't see any food around.

Hi, Schumacher
I myself ,a model car collector, F355 is a milestone car
so is the successor F360.Both are fantastic cars !

Do you find the dealer and willing to do the tips for you ?
(1) Including the muffler, it's not a difficult job.
(2) Exhaust 4 tips only, you need an experience dealer do the melt
work and align them precisely.

I know I should let shine answer your question, but I am quite familiar with his car and i believe it's 500+hp and there are many pics of shine's in the W209 forum...

Shine, I don't even know what I'm going to do. I wish the MB authorized dealer had all this tune-up stuff under control- make an appointment, drop off your car, drive a loaner car for a week, then pick up your car with brand new dual exhaust!!! If life was this easy... I'm too lazy when it comes to my car... I haven't even washed my car once since I picked it up from dealer and it is getting dirtier everyday...
I'm just gonna go to boston and let my car expert friends take mine to a tune-up shop and get the work done...

Thanks, Schumacher.
People may have little idea about CLK50K
It's a supercharged CLK500, ~ 500 hp
I timed it 0~ 150 mph, 23.5 " here in warm weather.
From Mags, the sprint to 150 mph, for your reference
SL55AMG 22.6"
996 Twin-turbo 23.2"
E39/M5 32.2" (I guess F355 is close to M5)
CLK55AMG 35.5"

HOLY CRAP that is soo fast, i remember the SL55 having very similar performance figures as the Lambo Murcielago, i cannot belive that the CLK50K is that fast, just .9 seconds slower to 150mpg, that is superb. It makes me want to drop one in an E and confuse the hell out of the exotic car drivers.

Now, I'm a little famous here....
Taiwan is a small place, not many F355 around, especially a Silver F355, not like red,yellow....you can almost guess who the
owner is.
Well, a man called my dealer, asked them if any "new model of Mercedes with two door only " and "runs very very fast....."
The owner of F355 has no idea who the Fxxx smoked him
so badly, the only clue for him is an "Mercedes coupe"
Isn't it funny ?

Hi, Tezta
F355 priced US$220,000 here at that time, F360 maybe a little more, but should not over 250k.

Hope I can write the SL55AMG kill story later, wish me luck

iseff, saw your CLK, nice color !

So is the soon to come CLK-GTR & Porsche 996 "GT1", yes !
I'm saying GT1, not GT2,GT3 here in Taiwan.
CLK-GTR? is there one in Taiwan? There were 2 here in HK, but i think one was sold already but they are not alowed to be registered in HK because of the LHD.

Thats not all you did to get an aditional 200 Hp out of that car, is it? What other mods have you done? Thats alot of gain for a low boost S/C. I've done some shopping, and nobody is getting that kind of gain. Whats the deal?

THats it, Kleemann SC's are designed to off that kind of power with such little boost.

I find that very hard to believe. I would ask to see a dyno chart, but I know that anyone can make a chart look the way they want it to, and easily cloud reality with overstated numbers. Is Kleemann not concerned with customers going to a reputable shop to get dyno'ed, and finding almost 1/2 of that horsepower fictitious? If your car were in optimum conditions, cool, dry, and moving at 100mph, maybe it would show good numbers like that, but not sitting in a shop on a dyno. How do they estimate those kinds of figures, with a slide rule, or an abacus? I'd just rather not deal with a company that says so much gain for such a little boost. Just tell the truth I say, people would still buy there stuff, and they wouldn't have to look over there shoulder.
Speaking of that, I was at a car show and drag in LA last month, and we were supposed to see a race between a Kleemann w208 CLK 430k claiming over 500 hp, and a Renntech SLK32 with a tuning kit claiming 396 hp. Well the time came and Kleemann backed out. I would gather that they would have a lot to explain if the CLK did not win. Food for thought.

Check this for some Dynos on a 320, 430 and 55 Kleemann supercharged engines .

Ok, you just proved my point. If you caculate a 17% drivetrain loss on the CLK55, the Kleemann is making 500 at the crank. Good power (if its true), but then how is your 5 liter making the same or more Hp with the same system? I'm confused. Goes to show you, that anyone will believe what they are told if told with a straight face.
