Ran my first C6 Z06

We played a bit on the freeway. There was too much traffic and I'm not in to darting in and out of traffic. I must say however, the acceleration on that car is SICK! It sounded like he had exhaust or that he had the "resonator" mod done.

Anyway, we pulled off the freeway and onto a nice unoccupied 4 lane road. We went at about a 20 mph roll. He jumped out, thanks to the nice 325's on his vehicle and my skinny 265 Conti's. I held him through first. He pulled about a 1/4 car into 2nd and about another 1/4 car into 3rd. That took us up over 100 and we ran out of room. I was pleased with the way I was able to hang. I do know one thing, Josh's (DragonAMG) E55 would have pulled him all the way up. Anyway, nice guy. We gave each other props and went about the rest of our day.

20+ to list......
The exhaust on the Z06 has flaps which open up when the driver is @ full throttle, which is what you heard from his exhaust.

Yes, I'm aware of that, however, the exhaust only opens at full throttle and his was loud at idel, hence my belielve that he either did the "fuse mod" to have the muffler open all the time or had aftermarket exhaust. The car had some other appearance modifications so who knows.

I have not. It seems like every time they have a night at the local track, I've got something planned ahead of time or I'm out of town. It looks like I'll have to wait until Feb. or March. I've also been trying to get the car dyno'd for the past 3 months, but again, haven't been able to make it work with my schedule. It's been somewhat frustrating.

Well you must be putting down some stout #'s to have hung w/C6 Z06 like you described, more n more track time w/stock C6 Z06's have netted some very agressive track #'s 11.25---11.40's for a lot of folks over at Corvetteforum.com no there not all pro drivers like Ranger who thru down a 10.85 stock w/drag radials

You know...I recognize that the C6 Z06 is a very fast car. The fact that I was able to hang with it is not too surprising because we didn't go from the dig. We went from a very slow roll so the advantage he had with his larger tires was somewhat diminished. My difficulty has been in launching my car from a stop. The other day I g-teched my car and the best I could do was a 13.0! Granted, I was on a dusty back road and couldn't hook up worth a darn, however, I was able to trap 119 mph. The Z06 and I really didn't get up above 110 because we were running out of space really quick. There's no question in my mind that an "somewhat skilled" driver of a Z06 would probably take me in the 1/4 mile but it is fun to see the look on the face of the guy in a "sports car" when he sees me, either right beside him or ahead in my 4 door lead-sled."
