0-200+mph Race (Impro, need your advice! )

So two of my friends want to race

SS ( long tube headers, straight pipes, kandn, pullies, TB) vs. Viper Stock, vs 911 (ecu, kandn, valves)

where can we do this at a track ? besdies the utah salt flats? any place near cali where we can do a top speed run ?

who do you think will win ?

Camaro SS? On stock gearing, that car will not reach 200 mph, not even close. The Viper will take a while to get to 200. And what kind of 911?

911 would be his 996 Turbo.

If SS is a Z28 SS with just those mods listed, it would lose by miles. It'll top out at just around 165mph.

It's a 2002 SS
He said his top speed is 170~ and i think he has more mods, just can't think of them right now.

Pretty sure he has stock gearing. The viper, i think it's stock, thats what i heard, but then i heard from someone else that it has exhuast and some other minor mods.

I''ll be running with my 996tt

IF the SS can get to 170mph, it's still not even in the same league as your TT. Waste of effort. Also, the interesting point here is the stock SS's speedometer only reads to 155.

Those are all bolt-on mods you listed for the SS. If the 911 is the 996TT, then both the 911 and Viper will start walking away from the SS until its a few carlengths behind. Is the snake a SRT10 a previous gen?

The old 8liter Viper was so much cooler than the current 8.3l.

Doubt the SS will go 170 unless it's a hill like everest with a gail force tailwind. Even then it'd rattle itself to pieces.

I thought your TT was stock as it had a lady owner previously? Is it no longer 414bhp?

His is an older viper, 99 i think the one with the forged engine or something like that i ws being told.

the SS is going for the ride of its life

It is stock, but already have mods on their way.

Well....

....200 mph is waaay to fast for public roads imo, so my advice would be "don't do it"...I mean, if you can skunk him in the 1/4, or to 120, I'd say you've proven your point; not like he's going to pick up an extra 100 hp at 120+!! And your chances of survival if something unexpected happens/goes wrong at or near 200 are pretty much nil, not worth it imo.

Anyway, be safe!

Viper GTS 99 vs 01 TT stock

so we had the race... from 0 - 140 ?

Let's see, i'm fairly new driving stick shift- **** the excuses... i lost

My launch technique i used, i left psm on, launch from 3k rpm.... i got aboue 1/2 lenght on him and kept it till 3rd gear where i suck at shifting and bam he won by 2-3 cars.

from a roll, 40 mph roll or so, we both gun it up to god knows to what speed....i beat him by about 1 car

his mods: k&n / some intake hoses for better flow/ and braded intercoloer lines

VIDS TO COME !

i gota work on my shifting !!

lol, the ss isn't even in the same league as the other two cars. i don't care what type of mods he does. even w/a tt system he won't hit 200 mph on that drivetrain.
