So I was with some friends and my girlfriend at a restaurant, and when we left we found outside this guy coming out of a very sweet looking Z4 M coupe. Like some of my friends are racing addicts (they have a club called SRC "Street Racing Crew") they told me, go tell the guy if he wants to race your amg, so i said ok (couldn´t refuse). I went to talk to him, very nice person and hardcore BMW fan. He accepted to race and we went to an avenue called Chapultepec, popular here for street racing, with a long straight and no traffic at all after 8 pm.

We stopped at a gas station first and I took some pics with my cell phone:



In this pic you can see my car on the back with a friend next to it, the BMW owner is on the right.



To make the story short we raced 3 times, before the cops arrived and told us we were making too much noise and we shold go home.

I got these very crappy quality videos (3GP) a friend recorded with his cell phone, but you can get the idea.

Got him off the line and pulled hard, he kinda made a burnout but started moving anyway. I´m on the left.

C32 is a very nice car. It doesn't have the character or sound of the 3.2I6 but it is one helluva performer.

I thought they would be faster..Because M-Z3 runs 12.8-9 sec in 1/4. .

The Z3 M is not as fast as the new Z4 M, which is the best Z (M) car built. The performance of this car is very similar to the Porsche Cayman S. Each has a 0-60 time of around 4.8 to 5.0 and a 1/4 trap of around 105. Neither have been tested in the 12's for a 1/4 mile time. Each of these cars have less HP than the C32 AMG or a CLK55 AMG- but they also weighs less than the AMG cars. The BMW and the Porsche cars performance will be very close to a C32 AMG or a CLK55 AMG, with the nudge going to the AMG cars as the speeds increase, since they have more HP and TQ.

The E46 M3 CS is my favorite from a handling and steering perspective. There is something slightly unresolved about the Z4 M handling, though I've only spent a short amount of time behind the wheel of one. However, the dreaded magazines seem to concur

Not stock, a bunch of mods, almost evosport stage 2 except headers, ported supercharger, modified plenums, secondary heat exhanger, bigger water pump and battery moved to the trunk to make space for a bigger water reservoir.

you need some better tires and maybe wider rims...

once you get your headers.. you will have traction issues.

stock c32's would have a DRAW at best.. the gearing on the M is very good.

yes the C32 has pullies and other goodies. I would say around 320RWHP+ on a safe estimate.

and yes we know the M was stock (not a fair race) but the owner agreed.

stock c32's and 209 55's arent in the same performance bracket.
they have similar 1/4 times/traps but from a roll the 55 just walks it, ive done that to 2 c32's, there is a kill story on it somewhere. i believe i pulled sbout 2 1/2-3 cars from 25-30--110+, dont remember exactly

I have also raced at least 3 209 55's in my stock C32 (rear cats deleted) and have walked them from a roll. In fact, I kept on pulling away until the speed limiter kicked in.
