Raced (I mean wasted) a beamer last night..
I was driving on I-95 - Rte 128 in Peabody, MA last night and prior to that, a BMW was challenging me, if you will. I'm not sure of the exact model, but I think it was a 5series and it had the new body style so it was definitely only a couple years old, but anyways, we entered the interstate at the same time and just gunned it...he was with me for a about 35 seconds and then I was still pullin away from him...I hit 130 and my limiter hadn't kicked in yet, and I was well ahead of him, then I just slowed down. I'm not sure what the top speed of their car was but he was definitely trying...Just thought I'd share my story, as this was the first and probably only time I will ever take my car that fast....I know theres the "how fast have you gotten your w203 thread", but I thought i'd just make a new thread for my story...It was 3am...imagine if i got stopped, I'd be in jail right now, lol

lol yeah pure adrenaline, and it was awesome cuz i knew i was smokin 'em I was like YAHHHH.....my ex gf was screamin! but i wasnt payin attention to her haha....car was sooo smooth as well..

a C240 *unmodded* beat a 5 series...? which one... 525i maybe... but if we are talking about the more recent 530i or 550i... I don't think a C240 can beat that.. and I am pretty sure it won't be a M5...

Yeah quite possible and most likely a 525i...I was shocked myself...it was def the new body style though of the bmw, so when I was goin up against him, i had no clue whether i was gonna get smoked or not, its just exciting cuz you don't get to do it too often

impressive impressive =D thumbs up for your C240... which is funny because I complained about the C240 and its lack of power (then I changed to the C280 which has equal amount of power as the 330Ci, with a slight disadvantage because of C280's weight is 25 kg heavier than the 330Ci)

I hate to break it to you guys. Something was up with the Benz. As in, he was not trying, he had a CEL on, etc. NO WAY a 525 got schooled by a C240.

nono, I think you had fun which is the point - always fun to do that 
I also thought it was weird since 525i is VERY decent (that;s why I said maybe...)
but as long as you had fun and don't kill your engine....
525i has lots of power, but remember, it has that much more weight to lag around... yes it has decent hp for its weight

the 06 and 07 525 has the new 3.0 engine in it.
so, must be 04-05, and even if it's 04-05 should still be close call, but prob he is scared to drive that fast, who knows

525i is a very smooth vehicle, he/she wouldnt be afraid driving fast, unless he/she constantly looks at the milage, you feel like 50 when you are going at 80...
you can tell the difference.. test drive a 525i and you would know... but so darn expensive

i mean some drivers would not drive past a certain speed, and other drivers would drive up to car's maximum speed. In these cases, the faster drivers will always win.

525i's are slow. I pulled on a new 530i in my 328i when my 328i only had 500 miles on the clock and now its a heck of a lot stronger. 525i is rocking about 200 hp close to a C240 but it has another 1k lbs on it.
Must of been a slow race to take 35 seconds to hit 130 mph lol. Takes my 328i about 22-25 seconds.

It was fun, and again I agree on the possibility of the other driver not pushing it, and of course I'm not bragging that my car is faster than another car because thats not why I purchased a mercedes

The 525i with auto gets 0-60 in 7.6 seconds. The xi hits 60 in 8.2. The 240 gets 0-60 in 8.7 seconds. Just numbers here.
IF it was the awd, the bimmer is going to loose some steam up top. So I'd believe it the C won legit style.
