K2 E55 Wagon vs. Charger SRT8; Mitsu Evo IX & 2 old ladies

I have a 05 K2 E55 Wagon. I drive like an old lady about 99% of the times and rarely go beyond half way on the gas pedal, until a clear road and sucker.

Charger SRT8

I was stopped at left turn light to get on a highway when a Charger SRt-8 was coming fast behind me. The car finally stopped, from what I felt, about 1 foot away from my bumper. I seriously thought I was going to get hit from behind. Left turn light goes green, I go staying in the left side of the 2 lane highway. There is no one in front of me and I just go normal speed. The charger was on my a$$, pissing me off, so I just moved over to the right lane. I was aggreviated but decided to look ahead, no eye contact and just let it go. The SRT-8 slows next to me, matches my speed for a second and, then, I hear the roar of their enginge. I could tell the driver floored his car and gunned it b/c it did move fast and I could hear his engine roar. I decided what the hell. When I finallyed punched it, he was about 1 1/2 car length ahead of me. By the time we got to about 85 to 90 - I was at least about 5 wagon lenghts and increasing. I get to the next light to make another left turn on to another highway. The srt-8 is next to me, to my right side. I can not see anything into the car b/c the tint on the drivers side window was very, very dark. Light turns green, I again let him go first. I catch up quickly and by the time I am at 60 he was way behind, by 80 I believe he gave up - at least I hope so b/c I was waaaaay ahead. I get off at the next light, he gets next to me and puts down his window and states how he could not believe how fast the wagon is. I tell him that I had no intention of racing him but I felt he was on my bumper and then egging me on after we were on the highway. He states he was and wished he had not. He also stated his car was modded but no further info as the light turns green, we give each other a thumbs up and moved on.

Modded Mitsu IX.

I am going to olive garden to get take out. Stopped at a red light, 3 lane road, no one in front. A white, loud a$$ exhaust noise coming from a white Mitsu IX, with carbon fiber rear trunk lid (or it could have been a hood, do not remember), comes up next to me. The two guys in the Mitsu look at me, smile, rev the engine, I can see A pillar gauges and a some kind of large gauge - rev / shift gauge? - on the console. The light turns green, I floor it and by the time we got to 30 it was over, by 50 I believe they gave up as I could see a thumbs up by the passenger. We get to the next light and the passenger states, "That is one fast wagon." I say yes it is, thank you.

2 old ladies x 4

I am at a red light. Its at an intersection with a loooooooong red light. Next to me are 2 old ladies and I can see that they are staring at me. The driver rolls down her window and tells me that she likes the wagon and asks if my wife likes the wagon. I reply that it is mine and I love it. The funny thing is that this has happened 4 times where 2 old ladies next to me. The other 3 times were just compliments and questions about how much space in the back. I just think its funny that the wagon gets more attention from the older female crowd.

Good kills.

I'm a bit surprised that you got the Evo off the line so bad though. They're awd and are pretty damn fast 0-60 if launched properly. It should've been pretty close, if not him getting having the edge, since he's modded and the E55 not having such good traction because of the insane torque down low.

Good kills nonetheless. Keep up the good work.

I believe my car launches very well or maybe better then the average E55 sedan is b/c it is a wagon. A wagon being heavier but the extra weight is over the rear wheels which help traction, at least I think so.

heavier, but heavier over the rear wheels help.

The wagon has a faster 0-60 than the sedan. Less traction issues.

jcjmw,

Do you live in Los Angeles? I was parked next to a black E55 wagon with black rims badged with Kleeman. If that is your car, your ride is sweet! I had the black CLS63 if that was you.

I agree. I have to admit that the Magnum SRT-8 was my first choice. I actually test drove the car and thought it was a great bang for the buck. I decided to think about it overnight and came across my current car, the E55 wagon, on Ebay. My wife made a few calls and too my surprise they offered a price that was just too good to pass up (and the fact that my wife liked the interior of the E55 better). Regardless, your friend will not go wrong with either the E55 or SRT-8 wagon.

Great runs man. That's quite a bit of power you're putting down. Ever taken it to the track?

Eric

Good looking car too.

Red GTO 6.0L
This must be the week to pick on wagons.

I am at the same intersection and light as when I was picked on by the Modded Mitsu IX. I pull up to the light and noticed a car that I am not very familiar with, its a Red Pontiac GTO (which had a nice shine, it was a great wax job). I noticed the "6.0L" badging on the side of the car and noticed the driver looking at me, catching me looking at his car, he smiles and revs his engine. I do not know too much about the car, so I just point my finger at the empty road ahead and let him know its one. I always have my esp on and the tranny in S mode. 3 lane road, no one in front. Light goes green, I just floor it. It was a very quick race, when I got to 2 -3 car lengths ahead, I slowed down. I am in the middle lane, he was in the left, stays behind me, gets all the way over to the right land. I am thinking he wants to say hi, so I roll down my window and give a thumbs up, but he just kept going, passed me, got to the next light and turned right...........so much for asking where he got his car detailed or what kind of wax he uses.

However, if you simply dump the clutch, you would be putting the drivetrain at risk.
