CLK500 vs 996TT

I was in Greenwich CT and I saw a black Porsche 996 911 Turbo pull onto i95. It had a sticker on the windshield which I didn't get to read and eventually caught up to him and got his attention. He was game and we made a quick turn onto i287. We did a couple of runs from 60-130ish. We were dipping in and out of traffic too. It was an awesome race, by the time I hit about 130 he was like 2 car lengths ahead of me. The main thing I was impressed with was the handling of the car. It looked like that car didn't budge when switching lanes or going around curves. The brakes were also pretty impressive. It was a great experience, the guy was maybe in his 50's, gray short beard wearing a hat. We spoke a little bit while rolling and I gave him and said "that was awesome, thanks" he said "watch out, drive safe" and we parted ways. Fun day

I have a feeling that if I was on the juice I would've taken him or at least run even. Oh well lol

No offense stallion but one of those things gave me a run for my money in the M5. I really, seriously doubt you could even slightly hang with him.

I waxed a Bugatti in my Rover. Six lengths at least.

Of course, it was on a transporter. Maybe the P-car was too.

Lucky for him he said he lost the race. If it was the other way around then he would be in for some deep ****.
Maybe the Porsche gave up killing him after two car lengths and just hung with him. Could happen I guess.

Itt sounded like a turbo to me. I'm just giving you guys the results. He beat me, no doubt about it. He was probably short shifting or something. It was more of a fun race through traffic...but still, I wouldn't be afraid to run him with a 100 shot of N20. Just giving you guys the low-down.

My father had a 997TT and I used to drive it and the thing was the definition of fast. I was assuming maybe the 996 was much slower. It didnt have any x50 badges on it and the exhaust was the squarish kind.

Keep in mind this was a street race in and out of traffic. I guess the guy wasn't trying that hard...maybe he had tiptronic and didnt use the manual shift because I was keeping my car in lower gears when we raced.

I've raced an E55 stage 1 (he is a forum member and if you guys NEED verification then I'll give you his info) and with nitrous my car ain't THAT far behind. Without nos I get totally smoked. I beat an E55 in the twisties (mamaroneck ave) but basically because the driver was a puss. He was coming from the White Plains MB dealership. Straight line the E55 takes me apart.

Like I said, these are just the results, no need to diss me lol. Just like how the guy with the CLS63 beat a Z06 at the strip. Obviously the Z06 should've gave him an *** whooping but because of driver error or traction or whatever he lost.

I hope someone calls just because its entertaining to see people totally shocked that something like this would happen lol

Take care guys

All jokes aside...I did run into a Bugatti Veryron (about the time it first came out). And no, there was no racing involved lol. I was in Greenwich CT coming out of service and I spotted the Bugatti right outside of the Porsche dealership. The thing looked like a spaceship. Haven't seen one since.

I drive a silver ML55. Ive herd about heading down there... in Yonkers. I will eventually.

and just for everyone to know. 287 its a ***** of a highway to race down with traffic and not to mention the endless construction (nothings ever happening with the construction) and the whack grooves in the highway. Its like a Car wash track at certain points. you can let of the wheel and the car will drive for you. Its kinda fun
