let me see if I can find a Stage 1 or 2 S4. Might be hard.....lol, if not....you can run Tommys S4 and see where it stands. Either way....it'll be fun

sorry, but it just doesn't add up. clk55 weigh less and have more hp.

a stage2 s4 will be close, but the clk55 will win at higher speeds.

stage2+ (w/rs4 intercoolers) will beat a clk55 - not by much though.

i'm more than happy to meet anyone at e-town to test it out
There should be some money on the table for this.

Again, this is NOT a standard stage 1 tune. This is not software from GIAC / AWE / APR / REVO. This is a far more powerful tune done by SSP. The same file that one of our stage 2+ cars destroyed a CL55K. (This is a very low 12s car on stock K03s.) This is software tailored to the car, which Toms car is currently Testing.

http://www.dragtimes.com/Mercedes-Be...ag-Racing.html

CLK's don't even get out of 13s STOCK. If you honestly think a CLK55 is remotely touching a stage 2 you're sadly mistaken. I'd put any money that Tom's Stage 1 S4 will destroy a CLK55. (Not making excuses but Toms car has bad EGT's as well, limp mode 5psi after 6200rpm, even knowing this I'd put money down on his car.)

Just for reference, this is another one of our cars, WITHOUT our new tune.
Standard GIAC X. ASP Exhaust, Tune, Dv's and short shifter. (I have worked on and driven this car numerous times.)

A properly running stage II will take you. I didn't believe it for myself but as you can see from the video, I got slaughtered. And that was on one of the closer runs. We did about 8 runs that night and everytime I got walked BADLY. He was break-boosting btw. Quant, sorry but you will lose.

Stock B5 S4's are pretty slow. Once the boost gets turned up its a completely different animal.

I would have had 2 nice Stage II's ready for you guys but they are now Stage III.

If you're running for money, why would you give him all the specs?

Just say the car is tuned and end the story lol. Keep it on the low...

i'm comparing a "normal" stage1 & 2 s4 to the clk55. if tommy's s4 is boosting 25 and does low 12s 1/4 mile, obviously its faster than my clk. i'm still having a hard time believing that k03 can handle that boost. from what i know, k03 are not reliable with regular boost. thats why everyone replaces them with k04

the point i'm trying to make is that a clk55 is faster than a GIAC or AWE stage 1 s4.

also, from dig it hard to beat an s4 because of its awd and high torque. from roll, i bet a clk55 can beat a stage2 s4.

I'm telling you, the Stage II (and I think even stage I) S4 has the advantage...sorry dude. I'm a former CLK owner and I'd love for nothing better than a V8 Benz coupe to take the 4-ringed V6TT...but it's not gonna happen. You'll lose.

what kind of hp are those stage2s putting down?

i think most ppl don't give the 5.4L N/A enough respect

all i know is that i was able to stay w/ a 6.0L GTO, pull away from an e39 m5, and beat a tuned STI (close to 400hp). all these cars have more hp than stage2 s4. add to that, i already beat a stage1 GIAC s4.

btw, i have a lot of respect for the b5 s4. can wait till the new s4 come out w/ the TT. but if stage2 s4 put down less than 290hp, i think i will beat them.

I don't remember exactly, but I think my friend's Stage II AWE-tuned S4 was like 350hp and close to 400tq

I drove the car and I was really suprised by the constant torque from low RPM's.

You used to own the CLK 500 which is night and day compare to the CLK 55. So the video you showed racing the s4 is irrelevent.

ML320, Looking for my S4
I mean look theis cars can easily be underestimated. their 7 years old now. They come with puny turbos with a destiny to fail. Plastic IC's, and the list goes on....BUT make no mistake this car is deadly fast. Mine has currently raced the new XK8 with 3 people in the car + spare tire and another 30 lbs of crap in the trunk and I DESTROYED HIM. I've ran a C55 and let him get a 3 car jump on me. By the time we hit 90 I had a car on him. ::THIS IS WITH SHIFTING AT 6100~6400RPMS!!!!!!:: My red line is at 7300RPMS. Given on turbos cars the last few hundred rpms are useless because the car runs outa steam but HEY its still 1000RPMS. I also took down an E39 M5. This car is the german sleeper with bright blue paint.

Not really...the CLK55 isn't night and day at all. It's definitely faster than my CLK500 but it isn't THAT much faster. You can see how easily I got wrecked by the S4. I'd expect the CLK55 to pull a few lengths on me, while the S4 pulled buslengths on me.

The difference between my CLK500 and the S4 in the video is drastic. The difference between my CLK500 and a CLK55 isn't as drastic as the S4.

dude, no one is stupid enough to underestimate the b5 s4. all i'm saying is that "most" stage1 & 2 s4 put down less than 290hp. they weigh more and have less hp than a clk55. so i would expect the clk55 to win from roll.

i understand that you have a fast stage1, and you will probably beat me. but that doesn't mean, that all stage1 s4 are faster than a clk55.

if you guys can just post dyno sheets of those car, then everyone will have a better idea of how strong stage1 & 2 are. the dynos that i've seen are very peaky, and have less max hp than a clk55.

I'm not doubting your car is fast. But there is always someone faster. I was debating on getting the 04 E55 which runs low 12s stock for under $40k but it has reliability issues. Also I don't race on the street anymore. Plus having 2 cars it would just sit in the garage most of the time. I wanted a sporty coupe with ***** and couldnt pass up a great deal.

sorry bro, but they are REALLY different. i think your car barely beat an e36 m3, while i easly killed it. my brother has a strong e36 (puts down 230hp) and easily walked him.

comparing sheets from different cars and different dynos is pointless and is best left to bench and keyboard racers. Line them up and find out.....period

I don't know man, a 9mph trap speed difference is a pretty wide gap.

not really.....I know from first hand experience with B5 S4's that all it would need is about 300 awhp or so. What basis are you getting 400 wheel or so? My K04 S4 makes about 400 wheel or so on pumpgas and it will trap 118 MPH. It won't need anywhere that number to beat a CLK55......from a dig or roll

Jackson! I went to Edgewater last Thurs but idk, it was kind of gay. Lots of Audis so I mean, you guys should have fun...but it wasn't big enough yet for me to pay those damn tolls and sit in the cross bronx and GW traffic lol. I still may go this Thurs if I can
