95 C36 vs 01 Audi S4

My bone stock c36 beats a modded S4. We line up at the light, it turns green we both get a good launch. By 90 I get him by a car. It mustve been very lightly modded. He didnt know what hit him

YEAH RIGHT AND PIGS FLY

Not modded at all or he doesn't know how to drive, a bone stock S4 is quicker than the C36, as well as your 350z. I know this as I not only have driven a Stock S4, but a Stage 2 and a Stage 3 S4, having seen what your car can do in person, I call SERIOUS BS. You're nearly taken by a 1.8t on a stock turbo, should've asked him if its a 1.8t with a S4 badge

Seems like a plausible kill to me. They put out 250HP stock and with i/e they probably get 25HP+

Unless he dumps the clutch he's not going to run away from you off the line. Also could've been an auto.

Its plausible, I handed out a good whipping to a 06 S4 from 30-80 and pulled 2 car lengths on him. I would say he was on par with a 350z for performance.

350Z owners wish they were ona par with the V8 S4. I've ran multiple of the Nissans and it's never been close. Conversely, the stock V8 S4s run me very close. I can take them at higher speeds, but nowhere near as easily as the 350Z.

Regardless, the 350Z is nowhere in the same image and luxury league as an S4. Were I buy to Japanese again, it would be the Evo which is definitely not a hairdressers car. However, I could only have one of them as a track day special.

thats funny an 01 S4 lightly modded S4 will spank a C36. Lightly modded is probably a chip and that adds about 50HP. Sorry, but this has to be BS.

What are you kidding me? I murdered your car like bus lengths! I ran a stock v4 S4 with my 350z I was pulling away at high speeds. They only have 250hp crank. Well it sounded like he had exhaust done. Come out to Captree again this Sunday I will give you a head start.

How about this, If I can this weekend, ill bring a "Lightly Modded" S4, and we will recreate this scenario.

Because I see A C36 isn't slow, but it is not fast either.

In the very best case, you ran against a completely bone stock V6 2.7t TIPTRONIC (which doesn't even get to red line), and they're slower than my car.

I'll post here and let you know.

Ok, you didn't murder the A4 by any means. You ran him by 3-4 lengths at most at 100mph.

You just said a BONE STOCK S4 250hp is quicker then both my cars. Having mods on the S4 is a different outcome. The one I raced didnt know what mods he had.

"My bone stock c36 beats a modded S4."

The car id be bringing would have a chip in it, which is not even stage 1. = Lightly. We don't have any stock S4's sitting around.

Thats IF I can get one in time.

Like I said bring your "fast"A4 and I will give you a head start. How about I bring my friends 350 sleeper? Beat any modded S4. Unless the S4 turbos are really really huge.

Ill give you that run once my car is running right. At the moment I have a crack in the turbo. Hopefully will be fixed in a week or two.

But you can bet ill run you again.

My friend's got an auto VW Passat 1.8T w/ that $600 APR chip in it and my old E420 couldnt keep up to 60 from zero.

From 60 to 100+ though, the 4.2L M119's mid range + top range power beat the 1.8T's - I was kinda surprised too, especially since the E420 had a 4-sp auto.

My c36 has a I6 with only 268hp and it keeps up with my bros v8 5.7L 360hp 04 GTO. I also have a 4spd auto.

I ran my friend in his (the older one with the turbo that everyone tunes) S4. From the dig I smoked him by multiple car lengths. On a roll I slowly reeled him in. He had exhaust and intake (no chip). I had ECU and exhaust, but big chrome wheels which slows the car down.
I thought that on a launch the Audi would have had me because of the AWD. I noticed that the car had pretty good mid range and top end power. I don't think you could beat a modded one with ECU as the ECU makes a pretty big difference and can really make this car a monster, especially from the dig. If the car just had an exhaust or something then yeah, its possible.

Whos talking about image?
IMO the S4 is lame as a sports saloon, the RS4 is the first semi-credible product from Audi since the Quattro.
Go and drive a 350z and you`ll see theres more to a car than just dropping a big engine in it.....

E550 and Z4 3.0si
I cannot believe the first post I put on this board after buying an E550 is about this but I stumble along this thread and cannot resist. 3-4 years ago I had an 01 S4 with chip and exhaust and I took a CLK55 pretty easily; let alone a C36. It was a 13 second car with just chip and exhaust. That car was awesome off the line if launched properly. I would not call bs necessarily, but the S4 was definitely not chipped. It also could have been tip or launched really poorly, because they can bog it not launched properly...

Btw, the E550 is awesome!

I am.

And to call the RS4 "semi-credible" shows you have obviously never driven one.

While I'll admit the S4 is not in the same league as the RS4, I'd take one over a whiny 350Z anyday.
