Sucks to be them....
Last week I volunteered to go pick up my fiancés sister at college, which is about 30 miles away. I only live 5 miles from work so I saw this as a great opportunity to enjoy the 430 on the highway…. The place it was built for….
On the way back I was in the car pool lane doing 70mph in a 55mph (stupid Virginia speed limits) Looking back in the rear mirror I saw a set of lights flashing through the 3 lanes next to me, then all of a sudden they were right, I mean right on my ***. It was two guys on ninjas’. I could not get over to let them pass so I hit it to find a spot because these guys were so close to my rear bumper…. I got up to 85 in a 55 and they stuck right with me (no surprise), then I cut over. As soon as I got in the next lane and released the gas, I saw a state trooper fly out from a contruction barrier in the center median. Like a fly on ****, he got right behind those bikes and hit his lights…. If you get busted for 20 over in Virginia it’s going to cost you $1000.

The increased fines only apply to resident's of the state. And it's like $1100 for 20 over the limit.
It's intended to raise money for new road ways, but the resident's of the state are fighting it in court.

Welcome to the People's Republic of Virginia. Isn't VA also one of the states that does not allow radar detectors? They must be hard up for revenue.
