The American version is left hand drive lol. This car will be completely US spec. And don't worry, I'll take numerous videos and break numerous laws with this car.

BMW and MB have always made similar cars in similar classes, that drew competition between the classes, that's all I was trying to express. Bringing into the mix a car such as yours changes everything. Do you have any pics? By the way, I was the apple(E36M3) not the orange(c32AMG). It's hard to explain things on a forum, what you are trying to say.

I thought they made all the Skylines right hand drive, due to the turbo and exhaust set up I think. That makes things easier for us used to driving on the left. What other changes are done to make it US spec? I know with the M3, they went from 321hp to 240hp

You don't know much about the new R35 GT-R, do you? Lol...
Its a brand new car and it will be built to comply with US specs. It should perform similiar to the Porsche 997TT (actually, it was built to outperform it).

Beautiful car TopCarbon, classic car. Yellow ain't my fav color, but its definitely a head-turner.

No one in their right mind would challenge you. I wouldn't even be worth running against(tortoise and the hair). What year is your car? I'd be afraid to park that thing anywhere. That's one sweet car, love the yellow. How many miles?

Sadly my man, I know nothing about it. All I know is based on the older models. Is there a different spec model in Japan? I know some of the cars heritage(amazing car!!), they rated the car years ago at 276hp but true numbers were over 450hp. I have no doubt that your car will outperform the Porsche.

Lots of misinformation in this thread.....ya'll should know what you know what you are talking about when you comment

First of all, the C36 was an inline 6 produced from 1995-1997. In 1998-2000 the C43 was produced. IMHO after driving them back to back, there is a big difference in "performance".....0-60 figures not-withstanding. These cars were the direct competitors to the e36 M3, in addition to the B5 S4.

There should not be a competition between the stock e36 M3 and a C32, but in real world terms, what that difference LOOKS like is much different than what you would expect. It takes a huge difference in power to put "buslengths" on a competitor, at least at semi-reasonable street speeds. So my guess is that the guy in the e36 was not trying hard enough, or wasn't skilled enough in his shifting pattern.

The model year of a car really makes no difference in its performance....sure technology has improved, and things have aged in older cars, but don't underestimate an older car. Just my .02

Sweet sound TopCarbon, I honestly didn't expect it to have such a deep sound. I thought it would give a much higher sound. What was you time?. How did the Porsche do?.

Porsche went early but had a time 13.68@104mph and I went
13.6@114.2mph. I totally blew the start but made it up top.

That has to be one hell of an adrenalin rush. How many times have you taken your car to the track?.

I wouldn't say that, it's not as easy as one would think to get a good launch( at least not for me). I have a friend with a SLK 350, we were at a red light and for fun we gunned it on green, I rode the clutch way too long, all you could smell was my poor clutch. Being at the track must make you a bit nervous (especially the first time) which makes things that much harder. I watched the video again and see how the Porsche left early. Other than the slight delay at the start, the rest of the run was very good.

Especially when the clutch could cost a fortune in these cars. Key is practice.

It look a while for me to get my car launching just the way I want to.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DEZQKms6zdw (Left lane first run, right lane 2nd run) ( Not a lambo but you get the idea.)

It was my first time at the track, unbelievable how sticky the surface is, car grabs traction much better than on the street.

I didn't want to sound cheap or come across like a whining little girl but things breaking and the cost to fix them makes me a bit "cautious and reserved" especially on a hard launch. I never thought of the characteristics of the track surface, being that sticky changes things too. Where did you go? What track? How many times have you gone?

Nice MPH. Your car would be a good match for most stock 55K cars.

There's a lot more going on at the line than most people think, isn't there?

too much. No matter how much I said to myself, dont look over at the other car, I kept looking. No matter how much I said to myself to focus on the tree and go on the third yellow, I waited for the green. No matter how much I said to myself rev and go, I revved and went slow.
I trapped good speed and for me thats what I was after. Destroying a clutch for fun is no fun.
This guy put it in the wall earlier in the day, then he did this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aqc8dK602no

I did stick to one thing I kept telling myself, it just for fun.

Englishtown, and Ive only been once. I need money for tires and mods I've been putting off for a while now. I might not even do then considering I'm selling the car for an S4.

Yeah, with that trap speed you could easily get low 13's and probably high 12's. Very fast car, good choice on not abusing the clutch.

Its easier to launch on the dragstrip than on the streets because the car will hookup better.
