SLR vs tuned Lada...
Tonight I went for a drive on roads of our beautiful city on SLR and there was such history:
Has met red Lada on a traffic light.
This guy on lada has started to twist his engine
.
Green light - I has given odds to it ~1-2 seconds, and has pressed accelerator pedal. Lada left all further and further forward, break between us of dews when on a speedmeter was approximately 180, the distance between us began to be reduced, but further again there was a red traffic light and it was necessary to reduce speed. Further I have decided to not give odds to it - have started simultaneously. Approximately up to 140-160km/hour it was ahead, further I have easily left.
Than we stopped and talked - it appears in Lada there is 2.0L engine + turbo (Turbosystem he has made All itself. The standard motor in such Ladas - 1.5L, 75HP). Has told how raced on it on 1/4mile meter against carrera GT and win. Then he race on 1/4mile with tuned XJ220, finish approximately equally....

That's gotta be our boy E55Russ! How do you pronounce "Lada?" I have seen them mentioned here and there...no clue about specs or performance, but what are they, the Eastern-Europe Supra or something? Those things gotta be mad fast to beat Carrera GT's and all.

The specs are it's a 4-banger 1.3 liter and puts out a whopping 70 or 75 hp. And that's the fully loaded model. The fully unloaded one is like 1.1 liter. That's what I recall anyway. And you pronounce it L'a'd'a. Just like you're reading it. Imagine saying "lava" with a "d" instead of "v".
