I find this all very hard to believe. I drive a 335i auto. I have beaten a 03' CLK55 in my 335i (stock) 0-120, 40-120, we did several runs. On the books the CLK55 0-60 is around 5.2 while the 335i is 4.8. The CLK55 is however faster than the CLK500 and of course the S500.

I'm telling you that I beat a 335i from a roll up to pretty high speeds. It was a decisive win. I just slowly pulled. I've also chased other 335's but they weren't clean races. We looked pretty closely matched. An S500 has about 600lbs on top of my car so yes, 335i should definitely win.

That 335 wasn't racing there is No way a 335i is losing to a S500(not even S550) especially if it's an Auto. I just came here looking for the videos of me beating an E63 and by a couple CL's from a 40mph roll (I'm not stock) but anyway this thread was too funny I just had to post. Now back to looking for those vids the 335> E63 runs owner of E will hopefully post great guys.

Right...especially since I heard the engine rev and RPM's raise when he downshifted. We did a 3 honk roll. ![slap](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/slap.gif)
The fact is, I have 339 tq. That's more than your 300 torque, correct? How much does the 335i coupe weigh? My car weighs about 3500lbs. Isn't your 335i coupe 3,561lbs? My car has 302hp, doesn't yours have 300hp?
Since my car weighs slightly less (negligible), same hp, and 39 more torque...it should be a damn good race. Given the fact that this guy looked like a complete douche: fate was against him and I pulled him up into the triple digits.![thumbs](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)
Slightly offtopic (sorry) but Jon, that aero lip you have in your signature pic...that is an option that can be added when the car gets built? Is it a BMW accessory that gets added at the dealership? My brother is getting a 335 soon and we're looking into all of the performance and asthetic mods. Thanks man

LOL mmk Just keep looking for it on this thead I didn't have a camera so I'm at someone elses mercy for them posting it or not. I don't have 4 turbos (would be cool though) the E63 isn't exactly a Veyron bro sorry to hurt your feelings.
I'm pretty much even with the 335 in that video which is my buddy we ran that same night I'm waiting for him to post the videos.SO read the little story there thanks.

I had an M3 on order...when I found out what a dream the 335 is, I cancelled it immediately. I agree, M3 is a cool car and all but I think a boosted 6 is more fun than a torqueless, high revving V8. Plus much cheaper.

Gondon is a true moron.
Anyhow, impressive numbers those modded 335is put out. However, just because they can be modded to make more power than the V8 M3 does not make them superior. Brakes, suspension, power delivery, sound and looks are important too as is the retention of ones factory warranty.
Again, props to modded 335i's but I think bashing the new M3 makes much sense. Bang for buck, is undeniably impressive on the 335i though.

I posted above and agreed with someone else that that 335I either wasnt racing or it was a "REbadged" 335I.

2002 C32 AMG stock, E36 M3 modded

I am just wondering what do you have in your car? I beleive you also mentioned that you beat E46 M3 and now 335i which are low to mid 13s cars. I raced CLK 500 3 times in my C32 out of roll and out of dig and beat it every time, by 120mph I was in front by 4-5 CL, and in my E36 M3 (240hp)when I was stock I would keep up with CLK 500s, I am very confused how your car does low 13s stock

Granted that ItalianStallion has "demodifications" (heavy chrome rims and subwoofer) to his car

The same night though, a modded E46 M3 with DR's ran a 13.6 so idk.
My car is bone stock as far as the engine goes. The rims are heavier and bigger than stock, plus I have some equipment in the trunk so my car is slower than stock. I have no reason to lie about my races as I continually call my car a POS and could care less about my CLK500 or MB's in general.
You can't always look at 1/4 mile times as the be all, end all to street races and rolling "highway runs." Look at the E60 M5. The w212 E55 destroys it in the 1/4 mile by many tenths of a second. Yet on a highway run the M5 will pull it.
But why trust me?
