I saw the ZR-1 at the NY Auto Show yesterday...pretty sweet. But if I were to be in that position, I think I'd just throw a twin turbo on my Z06 and call it a day. Who knows what I'll be driving 2 years from now (if I'm alive, that is).

Your C6 ZO6 is more than plenty. Hell it'll be interesting to see if the ZR-1 can transmit all that power to the ground at c,3,200lbs. Z06 will likely be as fast on most occasions.

Followed hopefully by an STS twin turbo set up for the ZO6. You think the car is scary now add another 400 hp to it and see what happens. My buddy has an 04 ZO6 with that set up and dyno'ed at 862 hp after a whole butt load of tuning. Downshifting doesn't need to be done anymore!! And at 80 in 4th it will break loose on him as long as he keeps his foot in it. It launches like a violent top fuel dragster and quite frankly scares even me.

For a street application, it is just too much. Sure it churns out some absurd power figures, but the astronomical levels of torque far exceed the capabilities of even those massive slabs of rubber in back. The ZO6 in stock form is far more balanced and street-able, carving apart corners with ease with less threat of spinning out at part throttle. But hey, if you want hold on to your ***** acceleration, why not? Strap some hairdryers under that bonnet.
I agree that it is too much, but he has a death wish I think. I will not ride in that thing again!! And this STS kit is the one that is up under the rear of the vehicle. Vette's have very little room under the hood and the added heat from this set up if it was under the hood would rob power. So Squires put it under the car and it works too good. If you wanna drift get this kit and nail it in a curve. If you want to scare the holy crap out of some guy in a new TT 911 next to you on the interstate who revs at you buy the kit and floor it at 80 mph. The look on that guys face was priceless when we passed him with both rear tires rolling smoke off of them. I think there are still stains in my boxers and perfect imprints of my fingers in the dash too.

Yeah, there are a bunch of 1000hp Vettes running around on the NY streets. But I drive this thing almost on a daily basis. I also need to be able to use my power. Spinning the tires at 100mph isn't exactly my goal, but it's pretty friggen badass, that's for sure . If I ever mod, it'll be n/a mods. Boosting a Z06 just seems like playing with fire...plus forging the motor and getting a TT setup is tons of dough.

BTW, the LS9 is based off the LS3. That LS3 is hungry for boost. I just saw the ZR-1 at the auto show; its pretty badass. The SL63 was sick. I also checked out the GT-R and the Evo X. New Gallardo looked pretty sweet as well.

Yup, if you wanna boost the LS7 you can only run a few psi. Lots of people are running under 5psi. It still results in over 600rwhp so I wouldn't complain, but to me, thats not worth the hassle and cost of going F/I.

Every day that passes is another day closer to grabbing a GTR. I just need them to get the damn "build your own" up!

Not Gallardo, "Murciélago (meaning bat in Spanish) was a famous bull from Joaquin del Val di Navarra's farm, partly responsible for the fame of the Miura breeders." Wiki
