if thats the 911 top of the line, he should be race the ZR-1 when it becomes available. Thats just an average Z06.

ML320, Looking for my S4
German refined power vs American Grunt.

Then again the brits are / have always been biased against the American car market. For one thing they were not sure what fuel the car was running on. Secondly the guy couldn't shift for his life. Then again on TOPGEAR the referred to the tranny as being from a tractor.

The GT2 is essentially gutted, ripped version of the 997TT. More firepower, less weight, and RWD. Additionally, Porsche's engine layout places a good portion of weight over the rear wheels, keeping that rear end planted when launched. I wouldn't be surprised if those factory power claims are conservative either.

That guy can't shift for, well, you know what I mean. That guy is a total NERD & he can't drive to save his life. Give me the Z. I may still lose (that looked to be fast GT2), but it would MUCH closer (did you see those ZO6 launches?....he just bogged the Z while the GT2 got a huge jump - every time).

I particularly liked his 2nd gear synchro grinding....not to mention the blown 3rd gear shifts. I think his camera man was a lard azz....this test was pathetic. I would recommend maybe next time, lose the different weighted camera men & put someone behind the wheel of the Z06 beside Helen Keller.

biased because american cars dont work in europe-Z06 included.
They had trouble shifting because the gearbox is a bag of cr@p.

Accept it, GT2 wipes the Z06 in its strongest (and only) discipline... the straight line.Even the Nissan GTR ran neck and neck with it.

Round a track should be even more decisive.

Funny stuff. The ZO6 doesn't "work" in Europe. Does the UK have different air, gravity, or perhaps streets made from asphault that creates a different rolling resistance? Don't think so....the Vette seems to do pretty well at Le Mans.

The ZO6 also seems to have already wiped the floor with Porsche's 997 Turbo on multiple tracks. It seems to be a hair quicker than a 997 GT3 RS on most tracks. Your claim about the car being "one natured" is pretty misinformed. The ZO6 has world class handling (and braking). Here read up, http://www.fastestlaps.com/car4571c3c67224f.html

It's early as the GT2 has not run much on on any official tracks under controlled conditions so we will see how fast it really is. We all believe it will be deadly fast, just not as fast as that video portrays with the ZO6 driven by that Monkey in a totally unscientific testing environment.

Uk doesnt have straight roads, I guess you havent been here to see.
Roads are bumpy twisty and usually wet. The Z06 is a flop along with most other "american" cars as they are inferior to the competiton both statically and dynamically, look up the sales volumes.

I like the Z06 having driven one but people here buy 911`s.

GT2>>>Z06 as seen on the video, sorry but true

Define "flop" as it is inferioir to the competition? You can't - the ZO6 trounces every other major Euro car available in every performance stat. Period. You got oddly "quiet" when I posted the lap times proving the car was a world class handling vehicle able to meet or beat most of the world's finest.

We can't help you if you have substandard roads (that is not a ZO6's fault - it's your country's transportation priority issue).

As for sales volume, what do you wish to compare - be specific (here in the US, Europe, combined, ZO6 vs what Euro car?). I can tell you the ZO6 (and Vettes) do very well here in the US. When they are shipped to Europe, they get hammered with an import tax which decreases the value (again, that is a country political decision, not one of a US manufacturer).

And yes, I've been & driven through Europe (not the UK, but through France, Germany, Belgium, & even Greece).

Ehh,from a rational&knowledgeable car enthusiasts viewpoint there is obviously something "wrong" here. Can one honestly say that the Z06 is a flop when dollar for dollar it wipes it's behind with 997tt,Lambo's,Ferrari's,Aston's,etc?
From the vid posted, the only car that will beat that particular GT2 is a Veyron,if that.
I love how folks jump on a bandwagon&take whatever thet see as 110% honest because it's on the internet.

Does anyone besides ash-c32 believe 2 cars with basically the same hp/lb ratio would have a outcome similar to the vid posted?

Blasphemy coming from a 911 owner! How dare ye use power-to-weight logic & standard physics to arrive at reasonable conclusions...- the world is FLAT young man!

Its a flop as in hardly anyone body buys it
Straight line speed isnt enough, why else do Europeans walk past it and buy Carrera`s instead?

Lap times alone dont prove world class handling

I feel so ashamed

If only I could cough up an extra $130,000 for a GT2...until then, I will have to roll in a complete failure of a sports car.

Dump it while you can, when the automobile world discovers new evidence that the once King Of The Hill is a flop you won't be able to give that clunker away for free

Well now that the GT2 dethroned the Z06, I must have instantly lost most of my car's value...at this point, I might as well just keep it. Sigh....

They likely walk past it because the price differential is not that big due to the huge tarrifs applied to the US imported car (and the Porsche is put together better using higher quality materials - just not enough to justify anything near the price differential here in the US or around the ROW (Rest Of World).

As for handling, track times are a huge indicator of a car's handling prowess. If you wish to compare slalom speeds or lateral G's - 2 other indicators, the ZO6 meets or beats 99% of the sports cars available (look it up or do I need to list more figures for you).
