I raced an S2000
Just earlier, I was cruising to my friends place, and up ahead I saw an S2000, Asian dude behind the wheel with exhaust and we both pulled up to a red light. I didn't even want to look at this dude because I wouldn't be able to control myselff from laughing (as he probably thought it was a C230).. so anyway he knew it was on, I turned my ESP off, and as soon as we saw green, we floored it and I think by the time I hit second gear, it was already over! After, we were both heading toward another light, and I thought cool, he's about to see an AMG badge and it would become clear to him. But instead he decided to do a ricer flyby and take the left at the light.. It made my day, even though it was only an S2000.

S2k feels like a Civic around town. No lowend trq. Guys that get high 13s-14 have to rev it to redline off the line. Not a good drag car but a great handler.

Nice kill, nevertheless, s2000 are great cars period! I own 1 i know If the s2k has i/h/e with final drive from 4.4 to 4.5&4.7 its game over for our STOCK C32 on the street. S2 with a turbo or SC it will walk o over our 4 dr auto saloon.
I raced a FORD lighting with near 500+ hp with my s2k with only Bolt ons, from a dead stop dig, i was able to pull 2 & half cars length.... till we got on the freeway it was a bit diff the V8 SC started to walk hard

That's a stupid ricer argument. If you do this, this, and this to car A, then it will barely beat a stock car B. You could take any car, throw some mods on it, and be faster than most stock automobiles.

Still one of the most fun cars I've ever driven though...I miss it.

For the statement above, i'm not trying to put down c32's or anything i;m just saying, if our c32 has a sc already the s2k should have I/H/E maybe Final drive to keep up or to beat up a c32.

Even with a 5-6K RPM launch you are going to get out of the hole to sixty in about 5.5 seconds wheras that 500HP Lightning is going to do it in 4.5 easy.
So something does not add up.

i have been beaten (and badly) by a modified lightning with a pulley and whatnot. it was making about 500 hp. i dont see how an S2K could keep up with that even with those mods. i have raced many modded ones (even boosted ones) and they arent that much faster than i am now

Exactly my point...even an S2000 with F/I will not keep up with a 500HP/TQ monster of a vehicle. Yours had a CAI (sounds nice and minimal gains) and exhaust (same as CAI and not cumulative)...not sure what you mean by wheels...except maybe lighter wheels? Which also is minimal on the S2000. Yours was not even turbo/supercharged.

The lightning may have a lot of tq but it also weighs 4600lbs and has less agressive gearing.
The s2000 weighs 2800lbs rwd and has more aggressive gearing.
Here's a clip of a 460whp beating a 501whp z06 on the first run and keeping up with it on the second run.
If it can keep up with a z06, its more then enough to kill a 4600 lb truck.

Believe it or not, I'm in SF race took place at Oceans beach Great highway. From a DIG again my car pulled 2 half car length, now with that said, I had WORK VS XX 3 piece wheels17, they are not light at all. Only engine mod i had at the time was INTAKE AND EXHAUST. If you know how to drive a s2000, your be surprise how many heavy V8 monster you can take on. * know how to launch your s2 * try higher RPM's, if you know how with out breaking your rear diff in to pieces.

I'm with you on the bolt ons conclusion but your wrong on the FI issue. Turbo'ed s2000's are putting down at least 400-460whp.

Given that the f20 and f22 is completely superior to the b18 series engines, there are consisent amount of s2000 hitting at least 400whp on stock internals
someone hitting 420whp on stock internals.

Honda engines love turbo, they respond very well to it. I'm surprised honda doesn't use turbos stock.

I agree with your statement that S2000's are great cars! I respect honda just because they make a damn good car that doesn't die! A family member had one and it just kept on going like the energizer bunny. With any forced induction, I'm sure the S2000 would kill me. I just wish he would at least stop and give a thumbs up or something.. jeez, I've gotten smoked so many times, but I always give them a thumbs up, it makes me feel better about getting my *** handed to me lol
I surprised a lot mustangs, 3-series bmws and a few s2000's too with my c32.

i disagree with you on the 340 number. Even stock b18 integras can hit 300whp on stock internals.

with the F20c and F22C Temjinx seems like you know your hondas stock CR ration on s2 is at 11. which made it hard to FI the car most of the time, but tunning is the key to F20c's. A guy on S2ki go by the name * sideway* FI s2k f20c stock internals with i believe E manage full tune putting a lot of heat in that RWD 50/50 balance body. Again don't get me wrong here guys, I LOVE my 4 door, proud to be a owner of my 32 Just here to share some knowledge on s2000's.
I think whats really holding back the f20 is a lack of a true hondata. Thats why the k20's have more potential thne the f20.

I know if you upgrade a lot of the internals you can get past that...but this is what it does with stock internals.

I was basing it on something like this: http://www.ultimate-racing.com/Produ...TurboKit.shtml
I know if you upgrade a lot of the internals you can get past that...but this is what it does with stock internals.

Before you put on a turbo kit on a NA engine, you should know enough about turbos to be able to build your own kit or you going to have a lot of head aches in the future and not know how to fix them.
Even if you took that kit and replaced it with a gt35 or gt30 and a hondata kpro, you can easily hit over 400whp on stock internals.
Anyone who uses a POS emange to tune there turbo is crazy.
The s2000 has high compression but higher compression nets higher hp per psi then lower compression engines. But lower compression allows you to run higher boost.
The amount of power you can get before detonation is dependent on tune.

to give you an idea. This guy hit 489whp on a 1.7L inline four civic engine with a kpro and gt30.
