Top down driving home minding my own business, pull up to the light and next to me is a new Audi R8 V10, nice looking car. Wasn't much interested in racing until he punches it off the light. I return the punch. With my traction control light flashing wildly I still push past him. Once I connected he became a speck in the mirror until I slowed down and waited for him to see if wan't to do a rolling start for fun and to complement him on how nice his car looked. He wouldn't come next to me opting to turn off instead.

Audi motor sounded nice as he wound it to the max, it sounded like he over revved it. A little fun on a nice open clear road.

R8 V10? Are you sure it wasn't the V12 TDI version?

V12 TDI is not out. It's a 4.2L V8 and its not very fast. SL65 should have definitely killed.

Lol. That's why I had the eye-roll emoticon at the end of my post. Of course the V-12 is not out, and neither is the V-10. He killed a NA V8, which a biturbo V12 should do with ease. The only way the R8 would have had a chance would have been in the twisties...

I think, however, the new V-10 should be able to beat the SL65 AMG; 525 hp in a much lighter platform.

I had been looking at buying an R8 and let it go because of its poor acceleration compared to my car, so I knew it was an easy kill. Definitely a V something or other and a nice looking car.

Improviz

It handles brilliantly and is pretty quick compared to most cars (high 12's at 110-ish as I recall, maybe a bit quicker in some tests), but an SL65 willl definitely blow it into the weeds in a straightline run like this.
