MR2 Turbo vs Mustang GT
Not a Benzo story, but what the heck.
I was driving my MR2 with a buddy and saw a "Rustang" followed me off the ramp. As I turned left, the Mustang didn't follow closely right away. As I was 5 cars ahead, he close in fast. I down shifted to second and punched it just to show my Mister 2 is no slouch. The Mustang hang with me but not really gaining. The road is deserted (Fontana). As I turned right, I wanted to see what he was up to. We stoped, lowered our windows, and I asked if he wants to race for fun. He said "yeah" and reved up. I reved up to only about 2500 rpm and he launched..."I was like ****!" I droped the clutch and the car stuttered then took off. He was already 2 cars ahead before my turbo kicked in. I shifted into second and guess what? I missed the gear!!! I lost about 5 cars up to 75 mph and just gave up. I asked if he wants to do it again, but he rejected my offer and just took off like a war hero. Sad story... Oh well. You win some, you lose some.

His car is a 97-98' ish GT, and it has some words under the GT emblem (forgot what it was). I think it's a special edition GT. Our cars should be pretty much even if I didn't mess up. Hell, why won't he give me a second chance?

There is no special edition GT for '97-'98 models...the words underneath the GT emblem just says 4.6L....the only special edition car for the '94-'98 bodies was the limited edition 1995 Cobra R...but I doubt he had that..
