Tonight was the best night. I toke the 300E 24V Down route one and opened her up to 150 MPH. The adrenaline rush was great. When ya need to speed go down the highways as I do.

Ha, 150 is fast. My speedometer reads 160MPH as the max, but I think it's governed at 132mph or so - doesn't seem like it will go above that. Either that, or the wind resistance is too much at that speed for the car! (But I think it's governed, as I've read.)

to get them to play, i drop it a gear or two (depending on speed, rpms) and get on it a little to where they can hear the loud S/C whine

The other day on the freeway I tried to get an M5 (newer one) to play while in the ML. Guy wouldn't budge.

I was just cruising along, all of a sudden I see the M5 getting on the freeway, I think to myself "this should be fun," I catch up to the M5, then as soon as I'm right next to him I punch it and take off and he does nothing. A little bit later, he's next to me and nada. That was a waste. Maybe he just was afraid to get murdered by an SUV. :p
Just kidding, I know he would've won, especially at higher freeway speeds.

I rarely get anyone trying to race. Maybe its because I am usually going 1.5X the traffic speed and they just leave me alone. The only time I get provoked is when I am traveling at or near the speed limit. and then they usually throw in the towel at 120 or so, and God forbid if there happens to be a corner involved.... the white flag goes out.

Ya, our w203s go max 130. Unless you get an ECU flash then no more governed.

People who want to race me (G35, Honda Accord Coupe) they usually last minute coming to a red light change their lane and come in front of me. So then I go into their lane and it's on. That's when I rip them a new A$$ hole.

From a light I give the nod. or point ahead with my finger. Sometimes I rev the motor a little. On the highway late at night it's hit or miss. I have seen fast cars that wont do anything if you provoke them. Then out of nowhere they will do the loser flyby. If you try and catch up, they play possum again. Happened to me twice with 2 Z06's in the last week. Those 2 Dbags gave hardcore gm guys a bad name.

2006 C55
I wanted to play with a Maseratti last Friday on way home from work. Saw him up ahead about 15 cars with typical rush hour traffic. Problem is, traffic broke for him well in advance of me. Judging by the way the guy took off I don't think I would have stood a chance anyway. Didn't really expect anything really, just wanted to see what the C55 could do against that monster. I think it was the Quatroporte. Electric blue, sweet ride.

p.s. I know I'm butchering the spelling......

You'd be in for a pleasant surprise...a C55 would give any Maserati a very good run...they sound great but are not that quick at all....

Your worst nightmare...
I usually open the cut outs....and drop it to 3rd at their side...let the V12 speak for itself. All hell brakes loose after that...

I usually just hang in the right lane and wait for someone to blow by me. Then I just pace them at about 1/8 mile back. Every once in a blue moon (every 30 sec or so) I'll just come up on them real quick (like a bat outta hell, but stop behind them at about 5-7 car lengths). It's a small show of power (and of course don't let em lose you when they start weaving). After about 3-5 min. of this, once they start the weaving, I just blow by them like they're standing still. That usually does it. It keeps it friendly and fun.

Another tactic is just to pull up to the driver, give them a smile (a friendly one) and a thumbs up, then take off. If they're interested, the games begin! Just remember to keep it respectful and safe.

I have a few rules though.

1. If someone doesn't wanna play, don't provoke them.
2. I won't race children (anyone under 25). They're inexperienced enough on the road as it is. It's about having fun, not putting lives in danger.
3. If the driver is driving like a supreme idiot, I don't engage.
4. If they're angry, I won't engage.
5. It's always about mutual respect. If I smile at them and they smile back, it's on. If they just look pissed at the world with something to prove, I won't engage them.
6. If there's alot of traffic, I won't engage.

Hope that helps.

Cheers.

oh yeah.. it's never fun to play with someone just on the straights. It's about the driving / driver. I like twisties.

Maseratis seriously aren't that fast (from my experience).

Depends the car If i'm in my el camino (since i'm running straight pipes) i just put it in nuetral and throw a nasty rev next to the person. But if i'm in one of my pop's benzes i usually just look for other mercedes. Most mercedes owners appreciate a good run

you would think the V12 badge on the CL600 would make people want to try and race me just so they can say they beat a V12, but no...maybe its not sporty looking enough.

It looks sporty enough. It's probably people who know about CLs that don't race you. If you had a V12BT then you might get races. V12 NA=362HP, 391TQ, 0-60 5.9 -V12 BT=493HP, 590TQ, 0-60 4.8 is a huge difference.

I wouldn't mind racing a CL6 NA.

yeah i wish i had those turbos haha
the CL doesnt really look like a fast car, i wouldnt blame people for overlooking the CL as a speedy car on the road worthy of a race or something.

It has good power. I drove both (NA and BT) and while rolling the NA isnt bad. It is pretty quick. I thinkit performs real whell around 30 -60. You can really feel the power.

Any races since you got the car?
