So...how do you get people to play? :D
You know, sometimes you just want some spirited driving, and it's the best when you have an opponent to play along too. Now, Occasionally I do run into people who start to race - and even put their hazards on. I am not even sure how these little rendevouz start, but they just do.
Do you guys have any strategies? My Mercedes has tinted lights in the back, and a small black wing (The car is silver, the sort of CLK63 BS look..heh) so some people may think I am more "race prone", especially if they see my radar detector on the windshield.
Do you guys have any tips on how to sort of "entice" someone into a spirited run? I've come alongside interesting cars, like M3's, or even slower ones - but they never seem to want to go. Usually the riced out Honda's do, though - heh. You can see those blue neons from far away, and hear it from even farther away.
So any tips on showing people you'd like to run? What time of day is it usually best? Obviously later at night when there is less traffic is safer, but also less people on the road. Rush hour, forget about it.

sometimes I head onto a freeway on ramp then I immediately pull to the right hand shoulder. just so I am not on the part of freeway where people are passing me at high speeds. anyways I sit there looking in my rear view mirror spotting certain type of headlights and after they pass I look for dual exhaust or whatever. I sit there with my hazzards on watching 100s of cars pass by looking for something for the E55 to race. I only do this late at night.

Spool up and blow off right by a drivers window, thats usually enough for them to realize I'm in a turbo car, gets a lot of people to play.
But now that I have an external wastegate, I crack it open with a little boost. I usually get WTF expressions (Since my open WG dump sounds like God clearing his throat) but I've gotten 2 people to go like that already XD

alphanumeric - ha, I thought about that before. Usually you can spot certain type of headlights from far away by the shape, and you know what type of car it is - then you can see as it goes by if it is worth it. Makes you feel like a cop on the shoulder though, waiting for speeders!
Or sometimes I just go in the slow lane at like 40-50mph looking at the cars in the fast lane pass, if one peeks my interest I go!
And when I drive up next to someone and can hear their car's exhaust loudly, usually they will play. Most of the time people do go, it's unexpected. When you go out looking for it, it takes much longer it seems! ;p

I throw a bag of watery fecal matter at the vehicle and then it's go time.
Note: This is only done to 93 Sentra's and riding lawnmowers since that's all the LX can beat.

What I found works is just to stay at the speed limit or so in the slow or middle lane, and watch people go by..if someone who catches your interest flies by, then it is go time!
Today I did that. I was in the middle lane going like 55. All of a sudden, I see this Jeep really close to my bumper, I mean really close. At first I thought it was just some guy trying to pass me in a Jeep.
I let him pass, and BAM! I see the 2 exhaust, SRT-8. Then I floor it and we go for a while, it was fun. Heh, you never know if it is just a Jeep or an SRT-8 sometimes without a good look at the body kit and rear!
Very nice Jeep, my friend has one too. Fast.

No seriously, Any car with a big wing such as EVO8-9 or sports cars such as Vipers, Vettes, Ferrari's will get people on your back trying to provoke you to race them.

LMAO! Too many funny comments...i've gotta try to marbles trick! ![thumbs](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)
I try to get people to "GO" all the time with no avail (sigh). I've only had an older Mustang 5.0 blow past me on the highway when I was going 70mph. He cut me off in the fast lane, so I floored it. Before I knew it, I was going 135mph and watching him fade in my rear view. haha I guess he slowed down after I past him like "Oh, F-ck that!" LOL!

Ha, you guys are too funny. Yeah - I know I'm crazy. Yesterday I raced another Jeep SRT-8 with my C280. Well...raced is a strong term. I tried to at least be able to see his car in the distance.
But you'd be surprised at what cars will "go". For example, I was just minding my own business the other day and this Cadillac Deville comes up on my rear and then floors it, and we go at it over 100. I didn't know those could go that fast without flipping! Also, Ford Expedition - 300hp. Very heavy so not that fast, but still enough that you can see him in the rear view a few blocks down.
Those aren't the usual cars that you'd figure would race you. But if it has wheels and a dude behind the wheel, chances are even a school bus will race ya.
