CLK55 vs. Cobra (both modded)

So I was at the beach for hot rod weekend with some friends (fast single digit supra's, RS4, and some other cars) cruisin around. Well I ran into a Cobra that wanted to run. There is alot of extra footage (some shot from my car and some shot from others) but the actual run happens ~3:15 into the vid.

Just an update: I ran into the yellow cobra again today in OC. He was a really cool guy, we pulled over and chatted a bit. His engine bay is FULL of chrome and he won best engine at the car show this weekend. I found out how much power it makes... ready for this? 540whp!!! Boy was I hapy to hear that!

Last time it was dynoed it only made 432whp on a dyno dynamics machine in 90+degree weather and maxed out the fuel injectors because I put a bigger throttle body and bigger intake piping. I am putting in SLR injectors and getting retuned soon. The previous time on the same dyno the car made 407whp in 50 degree weather and ran 10.78 @ 127 (only difference between the dyno and track was changed the exhaust). I will let you know if I am ever up that way

HP seems a little low for that, even at 3400 lbs with driver. Do you think you got a low pull on the dyno?

maybe it was on a mustang dyno, though it does seem a bit low. I know that Hooleyboy's S/C C55 dynod 450whp and 522 wtq on a dyno dynamics and its lowest ET is 11.753 and highest trap is 117.80. Granted the C55 is heavier and the DA is well about 3K. interesting.

the fact the car pulled on that modded cobra that hard makes me feel that it was either a low dyno or bad conditions or something. modded cobras are no joke.

I agree the hp seems low but that is why I don't think dyno numbers are very good indicators of how fast a car is. My car always dynos low. There were many pulls done because it was being custom tuned and the most it made was 407whp on that particular day.

It was on a dyno dynamics dyno. The car doesn't have dyno mode, maybe this plays a factor in low dyno numbers

I dunno, I don't have an explanation. I'm just putting the facts out there. The car was trapping 125's (only made 2 passes because it was too hot) in 90 degree weather when it made 432whp on the same dyno (put bigger TB and intake piping on) while it was running out of fuel.

I have vids of the track times if people don't believe me

Interesting.. I haven't seen numbers that far in disagreement with each other. I've learned something new..

or...... what you're not telling us is the interior is gutted, total body is CF, it has 5:13 gears, and weighs out at 2500lbs

Blackbenzz, how much boost are you running btw? stock internals?

The funny thing is, I am not even launching very high in the rpms in fear of breaking axles and the car isn't set up for drag racing (alot of negative camber, KW v.2 suspension, etc etc I just slap the CCWs with drag radials on in the back when I get to the track and run it right off the street). 2k rpm launches, pump gas (93 octane), no meth, no nitrous. It is not full weight. It has c/f hood, lightweight battery, top half of back seats removed, and racing seat. Stock gears which are 2.82 gears. And here is the proof

~9PSI, I don't have a boost gauge right now lol. Yes, stock internals (unless you count cams as internals)

Those are sick videos. Daah-Am your Benz is fast. Those ET's and trap speeds are very good. And, I love the sound of those turbo 2JZ Supras they sound so sweet. I am a big Toyota fan and still own a well modded MR2 mkII turbo, but it cannot hang with you or the Supras, lol. Thanks for sharing the vids

If it weren't for your 10.7 ETs with no juice that I even think I can close in or beat that number with a reinforced motor running on the same Kleemann setup you've got.

Wow, I did not know that the 82mm TB and larger intake tubes made a 25whp difference! I definitely think the $2K I paid to do this is now worth it. If it weren't for you I would have given up on my project long ago and just part out and sell.

Are you talking about the guy with the fuel pump that you could hear a block away? The SN95?

I saw that guy cruising with his daughter, and it was crazy fast.
