Playing with an SL 65
On the way home tonight, I see a silver SL 65 AMG (top down) driving in Mexico. Living where I do, that would usually mean an older female whose rich husband purchased the car for her, or some other lamer that doesn't even know what he has.
I pass him semi-aggressively hoping he would bite, or at least unleash some of his car's potential. To my surprise, he flies past me and I quickly follow, hitting the 155 limiter in what seemed like seconds, he slows down and I do the same, and we just play around driving fast and passing each other. I was actually surprised that after I hit it, my car kept up a lot closer than I thought it would. We do this a few more times, and after a messed up 40ish 3 honk roll (due to a lane closure) we go through a construction zone and line up to do another 40ish (was so excited couldn't tell the exact mph). I honk three times and we hit it, he pulls slowly until I hit the limiter and he was 2.5-3ish cars ahead. The sounds of the engines were out of this world, to say the least.
What a rush, I am so proud of my car for keeping up and performing like it did (I was a little nervous since my tires are less than adequate right now, but it did not let me down).
We exchange smiles and thumbs up, and he takes his exit, and shortly after I take mine.
Great night, power to AMG.
