C55 vs Mazdaspeed 3
I'll be the first to admit that I hate these "in theory" races as the simple answer is just do it and find out, but this one has me thinking for some reason.
As you know, it all boils down to HP to Weight Ratios when it comes to basic racing. That being said, there is a guy I work with that swears that his 2008 (maybe 2009) Mazdazpeed 3 will keep up with and/or beat my 2006 C55.
His car is bone stock and mine is modded with an exhaust (no cats or res and an x-pipe). I would think I 'd smoke him, but he took me for a ride in it yesterday and according to the old butt dyno the thing is pretty quick.
Thoughts or real world experience with the Mazdaspeeds?

2005 Red C55 AMG and 2009 Harley davidson NIghtster SIlver and black
I raced one the other day, He had a ECU, Intake, exhaust and headers.
My car only had res and secondary cats deleted.
We went from a 30 and I pulled about 4 cars on him.
Then we raced from 60 and it was closer but I ended up pulling about 2 cars around 130.
You def got him!

Having owned an 07, and blowing it up running too much boost-there is no way his car will keep up-
they are great FWD cars, and at the top of my list for a FWD turbo set up-
but its a Mazda badge with FoMoCo parts.....and FWD....C55 FTW! all day....

The MS3 is a quick little car but you should have no problem with him. Especially from a stop, FWD can't hook-up. And since you mention power-to-weight, you have it - app. 9.9 vs. 11.9. Better power/weight ratio and RWD vs. FWD = easy kill.

Well I guess I won the psychological battle. I'd had enough of the back and forth with him seriously thinking his car would smoke me so I left a note on his car (went old school on him like in High School when you called someone out for a fight); told him to name the time and place. He came in the next day with a completely different tune as he did some research on-line. He was under the impression that our cars had similar 0 - 60 times, but found out otherwise.
Anyway, since then it's been a little less fun here at work.

lol funny stuff...
But in all reality you would destroy him. I have a good friend who owns a lightly modded speed3... actually he was one of the first people to take delivery in CA when they came out. We have played around numerous times and he has never once been able to remotely keep up

You'll murder him. Might I suggest letting him win the first two races by maybe half a car and then having a "rematch" for lunch/money/whatever you want. Then blow him out in the last run

MS3
Tox, you are a "bad man" lol. Good idea though.
The MS3 is "quick" for a four cylinder but unless he has invested in serious mods, it is a no contest. I ran a friends C55 (loaded with 4 adults which is a major handicap) vs my highly modded MR2 turbo a couple of years ago thru 2 and 3rd plus part of 4th gear one evening just for grins. He started in front and ended in front despite my reeling in a couple of car lengths on him on topend. My little car will destroy a stock MS3 so your C55 should as well. The butt dyno makes turbo cars feel a little bit faster due to the rush when the boost peaks and especially true when comparing to the smooth flat torque curve of most AMG's. The AMG is way faster than it tends to feel but put it next to another car and you get the real picture.
