On a serious note, one suggestion.

Do not street race...it was only 2 years ago that a fellow member of this site was involved in a tragic/fatal incident.

TAKE IT TO THE TRACK.

Oh, prepped track, proper tire psi, knowing the rpm range to brake torque = 1.9x 60fts every time with an automatic, if not better. No LSD either....

You could have too if the track and your tires allowed it.

Guess the track didn't like his car so much, as it "allowed" his friend's LSD-equipped car to pull 0.2 sec. better 60' times.

Skratch, the solution here is obviously NOT to install an LSD, but to be nicer to your track next time! Send flowers, cookies, that sort of thing.

If you read through the post. The best mag time for the clk55 and the cls55 in a 5-60 roll was around 4.6

Let's get this straight, you believe a W208 CLK55 is as fast as a CLS55 or an M5 from a roll? Car magazines are littered with errors, even UK ones which are superior to US ones. This is an example of yet another error. Seriously, just look at the stats pages and count the inaccuracies. You'll run out of fingers before you turn the page.

Um, stay out of it. It doesn't concern you in the least and you obviously glossed over many factors.

1.9s on DRs are NOT good at all. You could have done that with virtually any high performance tire.

Have to look at differences in technique and prep too. Do you know if both tires were warming up?

I am pretty sure he was refering that # to runflats.

With dragradials you should be aiming for sub 1.8 as an acceptable 60ft, and 1.6 as very good.

Maybe your problem is in the burnout or throttle squeeze.

So? You're such an ignoramus, you think that because they tested one car that ran a 13.1/109 that hit a 4.6 sec 5-60, that this automatically means that you'll do it in your car? There are cars they tested that ran 12.9s at 111 that ran 5 second 5-60 runs, so to think that just because "Car A" did it, even though that car came with a lower rear end, different traction control software, speed shifting tranny which your 208 doesn't have, higher rated hp, a 500 rpm higher redline, on and on and on, that "Car B" could do it, shows how little you know of the subject.

And you call other people dumb? That's like the Pope calling an alter boy pious.

Mag stats are for comparison. If it wasnt for the mag stats nobody would care about 0-60 times or the 1/4 times.

Considering that you got caught not only selectively editing a quote from a book about racing and basically flat-out lying about the content of other sources you quoted, *and* got caught saying one thing here and saying another in other forums, and citing a source here that you'd said you found to be not credible in another forum, well, for you to accuse anyone of glossing over many factors is really quite comical.

Oh, and blow me, I'll write what I want.

You didn't answer my question. You claim that an LSD doesn't make a car quicker at the strip, yet you also claim it help's the car's consistency at the strip. How is it possible to make a car's 1/4 mile times more consistent without improving them on average?

Iv done better 60fts,that day i was getting 1.9.Iv hit 1.7 and done 11.5 in the 1/4 before also and that day was perfect weather conditions ect.

I know how to launch a car ect,all im saying is with an lsd I will get better consistant 60fts at the track.come to think of it,my buddy is running a 168 pulley and im running a 180 so im sure the extra low end grunt isnt helping either.

that was a prime example of an lsd car out performing a open diff car.

Look when the weather gets better and when I get new tires I will settle this. My tires are almost down to the wear bars traction sucks. Also we are not writing about 1/4 times here. A 5roll is always slower than a dig.

Another thing my friend has the 02 WS6 modded which runs mid 12s@113. I tried a 5-60 roll we were even. Well obviously I hooked and he has drag radials.

You are writing about 1/4 mile times here, as your claim is that because the 209 CLK55 they tested ran a 13.1 @ 109 1/4, this "proves" that your car can match its (supposed, assuming this wasn't an errata) 4.6 5-60 run.

As to whether we'll settle this, well, you'll have to show up first, and frankly you don't have a great track record in that department.

Sure you did, just like you beat that E90 M3 up past 130 by "drafting" it.

As to whether we'll settle this, well, you'll have to show up first, and frankly you don't have a great track record in that department.
So the bottom line is the best 5-60 roll for the Clk55 and your almightly Cls55 is in the 4.6 range. Not coming from me but the Mag time. Still hard to swallow huh? We are comparing the best mag times for those cars.
