You're batting .000, man, get with the program!

And hello? McFly? If I lived close enough to you to get stood up by you at the track due to your washing your hair, sick dog, whatever, I'd have already arranged to have blown your car into the weeds. But, you see, I'm in Texas, and have no need or desire to drive halfway across the good ol' US of A to find out what I already know.

So if you can run a 12.8 any ol' day of the week as you're claiming, by all means, do so asap and be sure to post a vid and timeslip.

I, for one, won't be holding my breath, as so far you've shown that this "12.8" run is nothing more than talk. You go to the trouble of videotaping your beating a 350Z (wow) and other slower cars, post multiple kill story threads here, like it's some sort of big deal that you can pull cars that are down 80-90 hp to you, but yet don't videotape your magic 12.8 run, don't save save the timeslip, and never post about it here 'till now?? Right.

Horse*****. Anyone who believes this crap, I've got some great swampland in FL for sale, double your money in one month.

I owned a stock 2001 CLK55 AMG.

You don't.

You own a 2009 CLK550, non-AMG.

So if YOU have a video of YOUR car running a 12.8, it'd be relevant.

You don't. Nor do you have a time slip. Nor have you ever written anything about this supposed run in here, although you manage to find the time to videotape, and post threads about, plenty of pointless ricer kills.

So your claim is basically nothing more than a crock of ***** at this point. Stop lying; unless you've got some evidence to back it up, it's obvious you're just trying to lie about your car to impress anyone stupid enough to believe you at this point.

But enough talk, let's settle this. Your argument seems to be that you can give a CLS55 a good race, and that by golly, you're only a few tenths off of one in the 1/4. So, why then can't you give an E55 a good race as well?

MBUSA gives weights as:
CLK350 - 3585
CLK550 - 3720
E550 - 3885
E55 - 4087
CLS55 - 4050

So, given that the CLS55 is 37 pounds lighter than the E55, then surely, you think you could also give an E55 "a good race". Right?

And the test numbers bear this out:
Car & Driver tests '03 E55 AMG:
http://www.caranddriver.com/var/ezfl...fc6ae1464d.pdf
0-60: 4.3
0-100: 9.9
0-150: 24.5
rolling-start 5-60: 4.7
1/4 mile: 12.5 @ 116

Car & Driver tests '06 CLS55 AMG:
http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/...take_road_test
0-60: 4.2
0-100: 9.7
0-150: 23.7
rolling-start 5-60: 4.6
1/4 mile: 12.5 @ 116

Yup, pretty even. So given that we've already got volunteers in your area who were ready to run your friend, perhaps you'd like to run an E55?

Then, we could settle this. Since it's the weight that concerns you, you should know that with 37 pounds of difference and same rated hp, driveline, gearing, etc., then if you can give a CLS55 "a good race", then by all means you can certainly give the same to an E55...right?

So would you like to run one then, and get it all on video, so that we can shut you up once and for all?

First, let's see how you define "a good race". How badly do you think you'll be beaten by?

Also, given that there's only an insignificant (as you implied) 165 pounds of difference between you and the E550, then with the same engine, gearing, etc. as the E550, we might be able to glean where your car might lie on the performance spectrum by looking at the E550, given that none of the US mags bothered to test the CLK550.

So, lets:
Motor Trend:
http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/...fications.html
Acceleration to mph
0-60 4.8
0-100 12
Passing, 45-65 mph 2.3
Quarter mile 13.4 sec @ 105.3 mph

http://www.insideline.com/mercedes-b...benz-e550.html
0 - 60 (sec.) 5.2
1/4 mile (sec. @ mph) 13.5@104.4

http://www.insideline.com/bmw/5-seri...f-premium.html
0 - 30 (sec.) 2.2 (2.3 traction control on)
0 - 45 (sec.) 3.6 (3.7 traction control on)
0 - 60 (sec.) 5.3 (5.4 traction control on)
0 - 75 (sec.) 7.7 (7.7 traction control on)
1/4 mile (sec. @ mph) 13.6 @ 103.5 (13.6 @ 103.7 traction control on)

http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/...nz_e550_page_3
0-60 4.8
0-100 11.8
0-130 20.8
5-60: 5.2
Quarter mile: 13.4 sec @ 106 mph

http://www.roadandtrack.com/article....rticle_id=4477
0–60 mph 4.9 sec
0–100 mph 11.5 sec
0–1320 ft (1/4 mile) 13.3 sec @ 108.1 mph

So the average time/trap is around the 13.5/106 range...you're 165 pounds lighter, and you're telling us that you're going to give a car that runs a full second faster, and traps about 9-10 mph faster, "a good race"?

This should be good....say the word, and I'm certain that we can find some stock E55s and possibly CLS55s in your neck of the woods to give you "a good race".

No slip, no mention of trap nor track. Pure, unadultrated BS in other words.

I couldn't do that in my M5. From two cars back he'd already be long past anyone and it would take one hell of distance to catch up, especially if it's a CLK like yours.

As has been said, 550 engine in the CLK makes for a nice cruiser but your posts are embarrassing your fellow owners.
Like this:

You are driving the average $140,000 Lingenfelter twin-turbo Corvette Z06. More than a mile up the road, a Top Fuel dragster is staged and ready to launch down a measured quarter-mile as you pass. You have the advantage of a flying start. You run the Vette up through the gears and blast across the starting line and past the dragster at an honest 200 mph. The "tree" goes green for both of you at that moment. The dragster launches and starts after you. You keep your foot down, but you hear a brutal whine that sears your eardrums, and within three seconds, the dragster catches you and beats you to the finish line, a quarter-mile from where you just passed him. From a standing start, the dragster spotted you 200 mph and not only caught you but nearly blasted you off the road when he passed you within a mere 1320 feet.

Wow, geez, that's 0.1 faster than C&D got in the E55. If I'd have known my CLK55 was as fast as my CLS55, I'd have never sold it.

But hey, that means you'd keep right up with an E55. Would you like to run an E55 too? By all means, please do, I'm getting tired of all of the talk. Because if you could do a 4.6 5-60, you'd be in the mid-low 12's, not at 13.1, and trapping at 112-ish, not 108.6.

Edit: oh, wait, you already did run one:

Right??

A 5-60 run is such a short race. Obviously the E55 walks away with ease after that. The C63 and ISF does mid 12s@113+ 0-60 is in the low 4sec. Come on I thought you knew this.

Run the M6 with a lightly modified 55K. Would also be a good race!

My car is out, tune is lean as **** and supercharger is coming off next week,Ill be looking for some modded m5/m6s next spring.

Let me know how the race goes, wait dont even bother,e55 pulls 4cls to 100 and then 4 more by 120.

09 CLK550
The point is clk55 and 550 have 5.5L v8 none supercharged but the cars are lighter and with some weight reduction and a few mods , pulley, ecu, headers, exaust, with slicks can get in to 12.6 if not 12.5. Ofcourse an cls55 amg is faster stock for stock , but the again AMG is a tuning company so running a tuned clk55 or 550 against a stock cls55 amg would be fair on the clk part.

I lost track of wut you guys are arguing over.

5-60 in an e55 is way to short,go to at least 80
