Yea, that is what i was thinking, 2 cars is what i would have been guessing. A auto even more! 3+cars without heatsoaked (guessing the 135i driver was a good manual driver)
Manual 135i's or 335i's dont hold boost between shift and actually bog a little when getting back into the next gear/shift, as to where auto 335i/135i hold boost between the shift and have no bog. There are special maps that were released within the last month for manual 135/335 owners to fix this though. That second race he was probably heatsoaked if it was a back to back run? Stock IC and a tune dont work well in back to back runs.

I test drove the ISF the other day. Really impressed with the lightning fast shifts and topend. Thats my next car. They run mid 12s@114 and still get decent gas mileage.

I was giving you the benefit as simply being clueless but now it's clear you're also full of ****. An M3 (or CLK550 if the rolls were reversed) already accelerating for say 1/4 mile and you think you can just stamp on it when he's just two cars back and leave him "in the dust." I couldn't do that in my M5. From two cars back he'd already be long past anyone and it would take one hell of distance to catch up, especially if it's a CLK like yours.
As has been said, 550 engine in the CLK makes for a nice cruiser but your posts are embarrassing your fellow owners.

Edit: I originally misread this, and though you'd written CLK55, not CLS55. Edited response: you're dreaming, and no, it wouldn't. CLS550 is same engine as E55, same gearing, same tranny, same everything. I've owned a CLK55, which is as fast as a CLK550, and you're dreaming if you think a CLK550 is a good run for a CLS55. That's what I'm basing my take on: experience. I had the CLK55, and know full well that if I'd had an E46 M3 coming up behind me at full gallup and waited until he was two cars back to stomp it, he'd have blown right by and kept going, and I'd have never caught him--unless he was in fifth gear going 60 and didn't downshift or something dumb like that.
I also know what my CLS55 would do to my CLK55, having basically assassinated cars that would run pretty even or practically even with the CLK55. That was a great car and I just loved it, but come on: we're talking realistically 520-530 crank vs 360 or so (forget the phony 469 rating from Benz, these things dyno 415-430 stock at the wheels, and the M5's horsepower rating is also around 30-40 hp low imo)...even with the weight difference, this guy's dreaming if he thinks he can hang.
But back to his M3 concoction: you give someone a jump (or get one) like that, even a faster car can't chase down a slower one in any realistic amount of time. It's simple: suppose that two cars accelerate equally and linearly, so that each car picks up 10 mph per second.
So if the first car is already going 20 mph faster and the second car jumps on it, then it doesn't matter, the first car will *always* be going 20 mph faster...of course, in reality, cars accelerate more slowly up high, but this is still basically what will happen with two cars that are relatively evenly matched.
Or think about it this way: I run a mid-12 1/4, and I run a guy who runs a mid-13. Head to head, I win. I hadn't caught this earlier, thought you'd written "CLK55", not CLS55. So let me be clear here: you're dreaming. CLS55 has same engine and driveline as E55, less restrictive exhaust, wider rear tires, and mine has the added benefit of an LSD. If you doubt its performance, you might start out by reading this:

Was it a stick or automatic? Definitely plausible.
Any proof of that besides existing members? They are so damn busy and understaffed in most places it's reactive, not proactive to this minor crap.
Curious to see you race a stock automatic.
The 'Verts ARE pigs. 300+lbs heavier...
Any CLK55, CLK550 or pullied C32/SLK32s in this area? I would love to run them.
