Friend was driving my car M5 (no speed limiter) vs our common friend's 2005 CLK55 AMG and JEEP SRT8 (Both StockP
We did multiple runs from a stop and rolls 40 and stops. I don't but know everytime he would just get killed. Dead stop he was even till about a few hundred feet but after he was just left behind. At least two bus lengths behind by triple digit speeds. From a roll he would not even be close. This friend of ours also has a SRT8 Jeep. From a dead stop we did one run. 0-60 he was dead even, but the M5 had traction on and was just blinking. As soon as the traction light stopped blinking and the car gripped the road the M5 pulled ahead like a maniac 3 car lengths immediately. I assumed it was the traction cutting off throttle on the M5 from 0-60 and the AWD of the Jeep dominating.
Any ideas? Is this expected? For an M5 to pull this hard away from those two stock cars? I was under the impression it would be a closer match.

if its the V10, then i am not in the least bit surprised. a stock new one would walk away from both cars.
if its the E39 V8 model M5, then i still am not surprised. a stock E39 M5 would likely be a close race between the CLK55 and the SRT8 Jeep. The CLK55 really isnt too quick stock and the SRT8 has terrible aerodynamics up top. from a dig, the SRT8 would have the best chance of these three cars all stock, but would lose serious steam up top because of its poor aerodynamics.
however, with all those mods (tune, exhaust, intake, pulley, etc) i am still not in the least bit surprised. if stock for stock it is close, then modded (and quite decently modded at that) versus stock won't be much of a race.
nice kills

That M5 would scream on most Ferrari's. Up your competition. You just brought a hand grenade to a slap fight.
Thats more then accurate. I raced my buddies srt8 when I had 20's from a dig and I easily pull ahead. The rolling was not even competition and actually my g37 vs the srt8 truck on a roll was practically DEAD EVEN. Knowing that I raced 2 e60 m5's this is more then accurate. The M5 did the same thing i did to the srt8.
